    No denying that Covid presents a health crisis, but Texas is far from being "like NY". Texas started with far more excess hospital capacity then NY, and we have plans in place to add more "pop-up" medical centers if, when and where it makes sense.

    So, in this particular story, the health department is saying maybe it's more humane to send an 85-90 year old with multiple commodities home with a hospice nurse and end-care to die in their own bed, rather than fly them out of town in order to put them in a coma and on a ventilator, so they are comatose for 2-3 weeks and never wake up.

    If it were me, they can save time on the decision. Give me the hospice nurse, pain killers, and a happy shot at the end, and let me die in familiar surroundings at home.

    Except that the OP is assuming that these 85-90 year olds are going to infect their family, when we know it's the 20-40 year olds who are out socializing, getting infected, coming home and killing grandma/grandpa. Multi-generational households with grandparents, parents and children all living under one roof are fairly common in the border towns.

    TX is already getting federal help from the military services. Texas hospitals are already filled, and they are using refridgerator trucks for corpse storage. This virus is not going to be stopped by the amount hospital beds, the ICUs are filled to capacity hence the "death-panels".

    it is not over yet - you now have 16 states with high to critical levels of hospital admissions, over 145,000 dead and a daily death rate of over one thousand people dying PER DAY and it has not yet reached the peak, meanwhile your COVIDIOT in chief is handing out ventilators to countries that do not need or want or even have the infrastructure to use them.

    The world would have understood had you kept those ventilators there - after all NZ is working on cornering the market anyway - their new ventilator look very impressive. But to just do what Trump always does - only hand stuff out to those people he sees as liking HIM, not America, but HIM personally, in the middle of a crisis in your own country is a folly that beggars belief

    But please, please please keep digging up this topic because it really has a negative impact with the voters

    I don't even know if they even care about their own. I'm a New Yorker and there was never a question about tuning into the latest protocols and following them by the majority of people here. Of course there are always the odd ball outliers, but its hard to believe that some on the right are still calling it a hoax

    You do know what "triage" is about don't you? Every hospital does it in emergency situations. Do you know the difference between triage due to lack of medical materials vs denying people healthcare simply to save money? Because that's the difference between what was claimed of Obama v what Texas is doing at this time.

    Your argument is based on a false equivalency.
