They thought he was going to try to kill them. Some reports were saying he told them he was going to get a gun out of his car.

 

I have no idea on how they approached him. did he say "sir- do you have a moment, there are some questions I need to ask" or did he say "hey you, hold up there" you understand that cops can not just stop you and ask questions, they have to have knowledge that you may have committed a crime and they must tell you that, if you ask. This isn't Russia, the police have no right to even ask you to identify yourself, unless they think you committed a crime, and not have a "suspicion" of a crime but at least some actual facts that warrant being detained. And being a black man is not enough of a description when the area is 50% black. Cops act like bullies in a lot of cases. It is very easy for black men to be leery of the police when abuse is common. Now it is probably 5% of the cops causing 90 percent of the distrust, but the code of silence that the police have protects the rogue jerks that cause all the issues.

 

The police had a warrant for his arrest. (There were fake rumors that he sexually assaulted a child. The sexual assault was against his ex-girlfriend.)

They had him on the ground in custody on the other side of the vehicle seconds before he shook free and walked around to the driver's side of the SUV.

So, now, three people were shot last night by other citizens. A "Libertarian" who was there in solidarity with BLM but also to protect property from criminal rioters, shot some people and now the "protesters" are blaming White Supremacists.

This is just great. Who needs police anyway?

Cell phone cameras and social media allows irresponsible people to jump to conclusions instead of waiting for facts. There's no "justice" in that.

 

Don Lemon is telling people to stop rioting. lol Don Lemon. But the only reason is that the riots are hurting Democrats in national election polling.

Last month, Portland's Mayor Wheeler made a similar plea to the rioters to stop because "they were going to get Donald Trump reelected." That's all. Politics. Not crime.

Yep. This was a horrible strategy for the left - inciting, defending, and condoning riots, thinking it would whip up votes for Biden. They're all responsible for the death and destruction.

 

I somehow doubt that the rioters are people who will show up on election day. They're probably laughing at calls from fat cat wealthy media personalities and politicos to stop because "Politics!", if they pay any attention to those messages at all. These are anarchists who hate Republicans, but also equally hate establishment Democrats. If they vote, they'll probably go Green Party.

Is pulling a gun on someone in the PAST punishable by death?

That being said, he shouldn't have resisted arrest. He should have cooperated, no doubt. But shooting someone 7 times in the back seems a tad excessive.

Not after he was just on the ground on the other side of the vehicle but managed to struggle loose and walk to the other side. When he opened the car door and leaned in to get "something", the officers were justified to stop him by any means possible, in case that "something" was a gun.
