Biden indicates he won't release list of possible Supreme Court nominees

Trump can't commit to that anymore then Obama could...as Biden said in 2016 he has a Constitutional Duty....with that said it's up to the Senate then to confirm.....if he wanted to swing some votes on the Senate, give us an idea of his judicial picks as well...it could swing votes...not just for him, but for Senators..as well as Senators on the ballot.

My guess is he wno't release it because his goal is to radicalize the Court....he'll be nominating partisans with no judicial record, lie Obama, Clinton, and maybe even his puppet master AOC as well

Hmmm...I seem to recall people being incensed that Biden said he would only consider a woman for his veep pick. Now, Trump is doing the same with his SCOTUS appointment, and all is well in Trumpland.

 

Since RGB was bound to leave the bench sooner or later, my guess is that Trump already had a list of candidates and the tops ones happen to be women. That's not the case with Biden.

 

When Trump nominates a woman who's choice is the choice for life, Democrats will collectively lose their shyte and suddenly say a woman shouldn't choose..... LOL

 

So, by your own words, you are 'guessing' about Trump, but asserting that you 'know' about Biden.

If Trump was not playing the gender card, why did he make the point of announcing that his nom would be a woman?

 

I doubt Biden already has a list of nominees that he made back in February. He said he was going to pick a woman judge just like he said he was going to pick a woman running mate and he did that without ever knowing if he'd ever have the opportunity to pick one and when. Trump may have already planned this out and had a list prepared since RGB wasn't going to live for ever. Maybe Trump was just prepared for the inevitable.

 

Have you been seeing some of the judges McConnell and trump been rushing thru? That is inexperience.

You are welcome to frame this any way you wish, of course, but the hypocrisy is not lost on most. Biden announces his VP pick would be a woman - the right goes crazy. Trump announces his SCOTUS pick will be a woman - crickets.

Biden announces he'll pick a woman if he gets the chance and he's picking a woman only because she's a woman. Trump didn't do that.

 

So you know that Biden picked a woman only because she was a woman. But Trump didn't do that. How so? How do you know Trump's intentions? And if they weren't to appeal to women, why did he announce it would be a woman? If there are only women on his list, is that because there are no qualified men?

 

Actually, it could make a difference to an undecided voter if the list contains the names of center-Left nominees who respect the Constitution or far-Left extremists who don't.

I agree with camp_steveo - Biden's excuses for not releasing a list are weak, and it's understandable that his refusal to do so raises suspicion in many people's minds. People want to know if Biden is going to govern like a moderate or if he's going to govern like the extremists who are overrunning his party, and hiding the list suggests it will be the latter. Personally, I don't think he's doing himself any favors concealing this information from voters.

There is a difference between choosing the most qualified candidate, who may happen to be a woman, and choosing only women as candidates because gender is the first qualification. The first scenario is as it should be and is a perfect example of true equality. The second scenario is gender bias and discrimination, and is as bad as affirmative action ---- or worse, since it is being done for political reasons to pander to leftwing radicals.

If the most qualified candidate is a woman, she should get the job, and gender should have nothing to do with it one way or the other. But choosing candidates only from women is a problem.

Trump's list of potential nominees has been known and public and discussed since even before the passing of RBG, and it has always included women, and Amy Coney Barrett ----a woman---- has long been considered one of the frontrunners. Hence Trump saying he may choose a woman is not new, not surprising, and not pandering.

Biden saying he won't share his list, but hinting it would be women, is not the same at all, and it is ignorant and dishonest to imply otherwise.

 

What bullshit, just nominate the best person, I think it is a forgone conclusion that Trump will nominate a woman, but again I wish he didn't say so, before you know it only gender confused, race confused, species confused people will be eligible.

 

More women than men in this country. The court should have 5 women if we're accurately representing the population.
