I don't like it, but given how deeply partisan we've become in recent years, I'm not too surprised.

 

Don't oversimplify the ME peace agreements to the point of absurdity. They reflect recent changes in the region coupled with pressure from both Trump and Netanyahu to deliver something formal at a time when both are feeling electoral pressure. It's progress of some sort, which is great, but it's not like Trump did something extraordinary. Besides, there are also dismal failures to point to, especially his silly efforts with Kim Jong Un and the total failure that those turned out to be. But those biased toward Trump will ignore that and all of the other failures, of course, and focus on a trumped-up nothingburger in the Middle East.

 

I'm not oversimplifying at all the ME agreements are major shifts with results, no President has been able to accomplish it and this is just the start. And we don't know the NK talks will turn out in failure, we're dealing with a madman there who looks like is going to disappear soon but again what other President even came close? Then of course the new trade agreements which even Biden said is better than NAFTA. The strengthening of NATO. I don't expect a PERFECT record that's a little too high a bar don't ya think? But I admire his successes and have NO reason to believe Biden could match them nor protect our foreign policy and national security interest.

 

And here, predictably, come the apologetics. Kim has gone back to testing missiles, threatening South Korea and us, and is having nothing further to do with negotiations, but you want me to give that idiot in the White House who 'fell in love' with the little dictator and got taken for a train ride by him the benefit of the doubt and say, hey, we don't know that talks will fail. They have ALREADY FAILED.

Leave the campaigning to Trump and his paid staff. You're a voter, not a paid campaign official. Be critical of the idiot who has failed to keep most of his promises and, on top of that, has failed terribly to manage the current public health crisis.

He was praised by the head of NATO for getting the other member countries to own up to their obligations, advanced our policies and process in NK more than any other President, what did Biden accomplish there, the world laughs at their own risk while new trade deals are negotiated in our favor and where did Putin get anything out of Trump that was playing him?

I don't believe anyone is really an independent.

Most if not 100% of everyone I know that claims to be an independent has spent their entire lives voting down ballot for one party. They walk around and boast that they are not beholding to anyone and that they can make up their own minds and like a number of them in my own family, they do exactly what the democrat party orders them to do. Nothing less. I know one that shouts from the mountain top how he has been an independent for decades and yet has never ever ever in his life voted for anyone other than a democrat, he admits this but insists he always considers both sides, yeah right.

So if you truly are an independent and you have voted at different times for both parties then bully for you, I bet you make up 2% of the independents in this country.
