Delays have come from the GOP - NOT Dems.

And, you make a heavy charge for which you have ABSOLUTELY no evidence.

Our whole nation should be vote by mail, because that method is far more secure AND far more equal, as it isn't susceptible to the numerous methods of tampering that surround voting in person.

 

I think it was a well though and prepared operation for months, if not years.

But, Trump sure put a lot of months into it - assaulting our democratic process through the courts, using the federal mail, denigrating our election processes through the press and twitter, etc.

In the end, vote by mail is FAR more secure than polling place voting and it makes voting more available to each citizen.

 

I doubt this. With in person voting there is a much easier way to track ballots due to chain of custody. When a set of ballots changes hands signature must be obtained along with how many ballots are being transferred.

With mail in ballots it goes through dozens of people's hands with no idea who those people are. Or how many ballots go from one hand to the next. Additionally the post office is notorious for losing mail.

So....more secure? No. Its not.

 

For years we in WA have only one way of voting - by mail.

The state mails ballots on a known date and we're notified that if we didn't get a ballot we should tell authorities and get a new ballow. If I didn't get my ballot, that ballot would be invalidated - becoming no more than eviidence in a crime. I know of no case where his happened.

When my ballot gets mailed to me it has a code identifying my voter registration entry. That prevents anyone else from using it. I have to sign it, and that signature is compared to my registration database signature. If you seal a ballot you would need to guess whose ballot that is and sign it as that person would sign it - which isn't going to happen.

I get a stub with my ballot that has a code so I cant tell if my ballot was counted. There is no way to trace that code back to me - it just identifies my ballot after it has been separated from my signature. There is no way for someone to figure out how I voted.

Ballots may be mailed or dropped in recepticles for the purpose. They are more secure than mail drop boxes.

I'm not sure what you are afraid of. EVERY STATE has ALWAYS had a vote by mail system. The only issue is whether they let everyone use it and whether they make it secure.


On the other hand, polling places are RIFE with activities oriented to throw elections. The tools for throwing elections tend to be in partisan hands, so the state can favor the voters they like with policy on voting - hours, early voting, misallocation of sites and equipment (some some have to wait in line for long periods or search out remote and crowded polling places - as numerous states have done), intimidation and misdirectly concerning sites, etc. It also disadvantages those who have difficulty getting to polls - hourly workers who would have to miss work (essentially a poll tax), those who work at remote sites and don't have individual transportation, etc. It also puts ballots in the hands of volunteers - a fact that made a difference in the outcome of a WA election for governor, a case that was caught before it was too late and was rectified only through a hotly contested and highly controversial court case that allowed the ballots to be couned. Another day and that worker would have changed the election outcome single handedly.

Suggesting that polling place voting is anywhere NEAR as secure or that it is supportive of all citizens is just the biggest lie imaginable.
