Arizona Republicans Cast Alternate Electors for Trump

If Pence fails to do his constitutional duty, he will be pushed aside and the president pro-tem will do it.

It's you vs the Constitution. It says ALL. If he chooses not open some, he hasn't opened ALL. My youngest nephew is capable of understanding this.

What? Every state has two potential sets. When they certify the winner of the state, they choose the winning candidate's slate.

Those slates cast their EC votes on Monday. Those are the ONLY ballots that can be opened in Washington. You have been misled if you believe otherwise.

 

Their "plan" is more convoluted than that. If they had just managed to send Republican electors for the Electoral College vote, those would have just been faithless electors, which I think are legal in Georgia, not sure. No, they are actually proposing to have alternate electors as in alternative to the ones that voted in those 306. They want to send an alternate list for when Congress counts the vote on January 6th and try to replace the ones that already voted.

However, your continued insistence that there is any doubt or scope for changing the EC vote is simply wrong. The only ballots that Pence will be able to open are those that were cast by the Electors chosen by the states. Those electors have already voted, and the vote was 306-232.

The only remaining step is for Congress to open THOSE BALLOTS. Not any others.
