He just generally says what he is told to say. Doubt if he knew the difference.

So, it wasn't a deliberate lie. These kinds of slip-ups don't bother me too much. I can only imagine the amount of information being thrown at him all day, every day. I felt the same way when Trump was called out for the smallest slip-up. These people are humans. They are going to make mistakes.

Unfortunately no matter if right or left media is now about internet hits so clickbait is a major media effort. It brings in money. Media is now full of 20 and 30 somethings raised on the internet. A good recent example of this is the report that Trump abandoned his blog. Repeated over all media without actually checking the facts. Trump posted on his blog as recently as yesterday. I did a google search and all that came up were page after page of media reports so went to dogpile.com to find the blog itself. This is something that should concern thinking people how we can be steered to think a certain thing that may not be true. Right or left it doesn’t matter but currently the left has the upper hand on cultural persuasion as there are more left wing media outlets.

I find it funny that people accuse me of listening to FOX or recently OAN but I don’t read either. I have my own opinions based on a long life and what I find that makes sense. Could I be wrong? Sure but the cultural changes I see concern me. Not about things like LGBT or anything like that. I was a liberal in the 70s when equality was a big thing but changed as years went by mainly due to what I see government do. In my day liberals were anti-government control. That has changed dramatically and some of my old time liberal friends don’t see it.

A comedian and philosopher once said, don’t believe anything government tells you. George Carlin.

Did you intend to reply to your own post?

What do you think caused the shift between 1970's liberal and today's liberals?

Obviously you are a trump supporter. Trump, who has the speech pattern of a fourth grader isn't much better.

I'm actually surprised by that. I am hardly a fan but I have to admit he's got some stamina when giving speeches. Maybe his lack of vocabulary is the something people find appealing about him. There are 14,298,647 other things to dislike, but still.

His lack of vocabulary is the something people find appealing about him, it is the old "he is just one of us" things.

His lack of vocabulary is easily explained, he has bragged for decades that he never reads, he is "too busy to read". The less you read, the smaller your vocabulary.

Do you have a link for that?
Hard to tell if it's a misspeak (ie he meant to say down but mistakenly said up)
If it's actually correct. (on small time frames there have been many times where the number of case was down, while the numbers of deaths was going up)
or a complete and total mischaracterization on your part.

I know which one my money is on, but can't prononounce myself until I see the footage.

Of course he has a right to say what he thinks about Biden. I read a lot of nasty things you say about Trump. Are you exempt from your own attitudes of right and wrong?

I enjoy reading because I like learning about different subjects. I've lost count how many times a flight attendant or a stranger has approached me to ask me if I'm in college. I find it a bit weird that is the only explanation one would think of when seeing someone reading. Many years ago, I was at my in-laws' house and couldn't sleep. I looked for some books or magazines to read and there was NOTHING. Not even a newspaper. It drove me nuts that weekend. ;-)

I used to try to make sense of Trump but I can't. I just go back to the file in my brain of his debate with Biden in which he said "Don't use the word 'smart' with me." It didn't come out the way he meant it but I think that just about sums it up for me as far as he's concerned. ;-)

Quite simply power. The power of words, culture, and government. At this time liberals dictate the culture with the majority of media. At some point in the future it will shift again to another paradigm.

He does have the right to say what he thinks about Biden. However, he doesn't have the right to diagnose any health condition Biden might have.

Nope. What nasty things have I said about Trump? You disagreeing with my opinion doesn't necessarily make them nasty.

Why do you think some people are up in arms if it waxes and wanes that way with power shifts? Wouldn't it be less painful to ride it out?

    Which latest diatribe of ignorance?

You don't know if he has a mental illness. Only his doctors would know that.

If the culture shift is not a healthy one then it affects everyone. The current shift towards tech companies acting as censors for instance based on a one sided ideology.

Do you mean Trump being banned on social media? Or something else?

Trump isn’t the only one banned. Other conservatives have been banned before Election Day in elections they were running in. That is election interference plain and simple. How about banning those that brought up the now valid story about the virus coming from the lab or banning people for questioning Fauci?

He has the right, just not the expertise. His memory problems are obvious to me as well. He doesn't play the part of figurehead very well, actually. I wish him luck. I'm nearly as old as he is.

That comment came from memory. I'm too lazy to copy quotes for you so we will let it go.

I'm nowhere near his age and I forget stuff all the time. So, did Trump. So, did everyone else on the planet. We are humans. We make mistakes. It's called real life. It's just that we don't have cameras on us every second of the day.
    Copy that.

Of course we all forget things but I can tell you from experience that it gets a lot worse with old age. I struggle to find words just like he does. But my mind, while affected by memory loss, thinks clearly. Biden behaves like his isn't working like it used to. He reads the teleprompter competently and confidently but when it isn't there he looks and sounds like a different man. I'm not diagnosing anything. I'm analyzing personal behavior. I do feel sorry for him. He should have stayed retired.
