Yes. I'm nowhere near their ages and I make them. I just don't have a camera on me constantly recording my gaffes. It's fun to laugh about these things but it's a bit scary that some people seem to expect our leaders to be perfect. One will always be disappointed by setting the bar that high.

Btw, I don't believe Biden or Trump have dementia. Biden tries to talk fast and a hint of his stuttering problem comes back. Trump just talks too much so he slips up sometimes. It's not the end of the world.

GW was the king of gaffes and he was in his 50s.

    "Everybody makes gaffes."
-- James Carville <<--I actually think God said it first

The Ragin' Cajun is right. Next time you're in a meeting, on the phone, at the bar, the doctor, the lawyer, the plant manager...pay attention. It doesn't matter who and it doesn't matter where.

    Everybody makes gaffes.

Here is the quote I was referring to.
Can you explain what "facts" you think make that contradictory?

Very thought provoking post. You won't get much, I don't provoke easily, but here goes. Lol.

Yes, spatial distances. Trump's mind only works with absolutes. There is nothing in between. There is also the peculiarity of his mind always seeing himself on the absolute positive side, while everyone else is either a tool or always on the absolute negative side.

Gen. Mattis illustrated this concept well.

"Donald Trump called me the world's most overrated general. I’m not just an overrated general. I am the greatest, the world’s most overrated." Lol.

Therefore, as there is nothing in between, in Trump's head - it goes from one absolute directly to the other - this therefore must be the smallest possible space that we can describe using physics. I call it Planck brain. Trump has Planck brain.

I was wondering that too. It could be a gaffe but it could be true. Depends on when the spike was and how many people have been sick for months.

    I wasn't trying to provoke you. ;-)

This is the crux of the whole deal. His niece, Mary Trump, a mental health professional has been trying to warn people about him.

I was married for almost 20 years. I honestly did not know my spouse was a wolf in sheep's clothing until it was too late. The stuff that happened during our separation almost killed me. So, in that sense, I can somewhat relate to Trump supporters that just can't see his true colors. It's not that they are stupid or crazy. For them, the switch hasn't flipped yet.

And, yes, Planck brain sounds fitting.

Lol. It's just me, the dog, the cats and some pungent Orange 43. Your post got me going.

This one is illustrative as well. You are correct. We've all had bad relationships. We stay in them because we love the person. We lie to ourselves, turn our heads, become doormats essentially. Love is powerful.

Trump supporters love Donald Trump in the exact same way. I shouldn't have to support that as one viewing of a crowd chanting "we love you" to Donald Trump should be enough. It's self-destructive. We've each experienced it, and we can each relate. It's sad watching so many in such an abusive relationship with a politician.

Point #1 - I stated that the quote in the OP is not contradictory.

The statement again: "Covid cases are down, covid deaths are up" as presented in the OP is used as a way to disparage Biden's thinking prowess. I was merely pointing out both of those statements can be true. They aren't contradictory in any way.

Point #2 - The data available as of today shows precisely what Biden said "Covid cases are down, covid deaths are up".

So, what "facts" do you think I missed?

    CASES ARE GOING DOWN...

    DEATHS ARE GOING UP...

    Oh, okay. Got it.

Love is very powerful. I just don't quite understand why anyone would feel that way about an elected official. Sure, we can like their policies and personality (although I've never heard anyone say they like Trump's personality - that seems the only point on which both sides can agree about him), but LOVE?

Honestly, sometimes I am still in shock about Jan. 6th. I simply can't wrap my brain around the idea of storming the Capitol on behalf of the president. Nobody on this planet could talk me into committing a crime. I can guarantee the ONLY way I would be sent to prison is for protecting my children. I would and could kill someone for hurting either or both of them. I would die for them. Outside that, I'm at a loss on what these people were thinking. It's like a dysfunctional co-dependent relationship. Just bizarre.

P.S. You are so funny. Remember a couple weeks ago when you posted that you were high so your post might not make any sense? LOL I still laugh about that when I read your posts. ;-)

    Life's too short. Lol.

Yeah, I don't claim to understand it. I just see the pattern. It's unmistakable.

It's completely bizarre, something like mass hysteria I guess. It's true that batty people span the political spectrum, but this is all on one extreme side, and it's more than a few loonies. It's something different.

Typical for someone like you to show two different types of graphs to prove a nonexistent point. Show the other graph of deaths. Don't worry, takes guts to admit you are wrong so I won't expect it from you.

I went to the link YOU posted and took a screenshot of those number as of today (or yesterday). I didn't cherry pick any graphs.

You would not believe me if I told you how much guts I have. That's a bet you'd lose.

    Prove your statement.

You showed two different graphs instead of the two that are the same type of graphs which is dishonest.

It's not dishonest if I didn't do that deliberately. I'm not even sure I understand the discrepancy you are seeing between them. Would you mind explaining the issue? Whatever I did "wrong" wasn't malicious or deliberate.

Show two of the same type of graph not one of daily numbers and one of cumulative numbers unless you don’t know the difference.

I see what you mean. It wasn't deliberate. I just did a screenshot of the way they are posted on that site.

So, are you saying the OP's quote from Biden is false because the daily death rates are going down or because he lied about the death rates going up?
