Of all the economic situations, gas hikes specifically and inflation in general are the hardest for the Ministry of Truth to hand wave away. Everyone feels it.

Engineering food shortages and a recession is bad politics for the DP.
Might even be bad enough for the RP to beat the snot out of them without offering any positive reform. ;-)

Another win win for cartel party politics.

This is spot on. Record profits are being currently harvested.

Whenever government engineers an oil shortage the price of oil will rise.
    Corporatism = Progress. Right? ;-)

Non sequitur. Even more, a piss poor deflection.

IOW, it was spot on. :)

"The technical term for the philosophy that guides business in its dealings with the state is corporatism - broadly, the management of a nation's markets and politics by companies, unions, other producer groups in their own interests, backed up where necessary by the power of government."
THE SUICIDAL CORPORATION, How Big Business Fails America, Paul H. Weaver, Simon and Schuster Inc. 1988. p 182.

Again, another seriously poor non sequitur. Maybe, try again to address my post and what I quoted?
Are big oil harvesting record profits? Yes or no? Anything else maybe considered a dodge from the reality of truth.

Address what I posted specifically instead of deflecting to a simple non sequitur if possible.

What am I supposed to have missed?

Read more carefully: "Whenever government engineers an oil shortage the price of oil will rise." Ddy

What question from your post does that fail to address?

Go back to your first deflection post, it's clear as day to anyone not intentionally deflecting.

Well McConnell has said as much. He won't offer any plans or proposals; he simply wants the bigger office back.

If you deny climate change, then I can see why you see this as a problem.

It's not fear. Plants shut down, and some went out of business, when that happened. They can't just go open them back up.
You can bet if the Xl pipeline didn't get shut down, plants would be opening up along that pipeline to refine oil due to reduced cost of transport and co2 emissions. FJB such an idiot!

Well why doesn't the administration just be honest and admit they want to reduce the use of oil and gas, and the way to do that is to drive the prices sky high to discourage use? It doesn't make much sense to say this is about climate change and then open the Strategic Petroleum Reserve does it?

Democrats have divided priorities when it comes to oil. Raising energy prices will anger voters who are mostly concerned with the short term. But if we keep them low, this increases energy use, and raises CO2 emissions. So democrats have to be careful and walk a tight rope on this one.

So we are not going to get either honesty, or good energy policy from the Democrats then?

You got a source for that claim? Other than Jen Psaki, that is.
