Are you playing some kind of word game here or do you actually believe that Chinese manufacturing hasn't reduced American manufacturing?

Now you are shifting gears to manufacturing? But, no, not even manufacturing is a zero sum game. US manufacturing has been increasing steadily since at least 2009.

I've read your posts, I get you are way severely undervaluing energy as an inflationary driver, you're wrong but I understand why you're attempting to sell it. Energy is a driver in every economy, without it there is no economy. When it goes up it trickles all the way down to the plastic bottle you drink water out of and everything you put in your mouth. Energy is the KEY DRIVER in inflation!

Economic and historic reality, we have our highest growth coming out of a recession into a full blown recovery. You are going from negative to positive. You have LOTS of people out of work and looking for jobs so have the available labor force to expand rapidly. Wages have dropped so it's less expensive than it was which helps expansion of the workforce by employers. Capital is now available for the expansion and investors willing to pour it on. But once you pass from recovery to full employment and rising wages and capital is invested the rate of growth plateaus in that 2.5 - 4 range. Trump not only had low unemployment he had HISTROIC low unemployment and the LFPR was increasing reflecting that.

Funny how I recall back in the early Obama years when we should have been in a RIP ROARING recovery after the 2008-9 recession and employment should have been rapidly INCREASING it was the worst recovery in modern history. It was pathetic. But his supports all claimed that 2.5 - 3 is BETTER and more stable.

He did it in three years Obama had eight and should have had the HUGE increases at the beginning he did not. And the recovery after COVID was becoming the greatest in ALL of our history but as in 2009 Biden and the Dems blew it with their stupid economic and fiscal policies they always engage in. Read my sig as for just one.

One of our BEST economic times by all measures. Are you telling me you wouldn't trade that for now? REALLY??

Bush and the Republicans handed the Dems a strong economy with full employment, rising GDP, HUGE tax revenue increases and a paltry $161B budget deficit. The Dems took back the Congress a YEAR...............repeat a YEAR before the recession even began. Had they just kept their policies in place, used the same as they did in 2001 to get out of that recession the recession would not have been as deep or as long and we would have bounced into a full recovery within two years if not sooner.

So why would you prefer what we have now with what we had then?

Did the sarcasm escape you? Are YOU saying it never happened when you leave it out of your comparisons?

And Biden keeps lying about it

"President Joe Biden claimed the cost of a gallon of gasoline was less than three dollars, during a White House event on Monday about higher costs faced by consumers.

“In a few states it’s less than three dollars,” he said. “It’s in the bottom three in other places.”

No state has an average price below three dollars, according to the American Automobile Association. The lowest price for a gallon of gasoline is in Mississippi, according to Gasbuddy.com, which is $3.04. But Biden did not correct his statement.

Last week, Biden made a similar claim, which has been checked and corrected by the White House as inaccurate.

“In 41 states plus the District of Columbia, the average gas price is below $2.99,” he boasted at a DNC event in Washington, DC."

I'm to the right of you and Trump on economics. And I've posted several graphs over the years in this forum about exactly this. I have yet to meet a Trump supporter who can read one. In fact, I've often presented "Trump's magic wand" Trumpists with a graph where I removed the X axis and asked them to identify when the Trump miracle happened. Every single one has failed, and more often than not they actually end up picking a date from Obama's presidency.

Well since I am to the right of Trump...........
You didn't post a graph here while claiming I couldn't read it.

I've yet to meet one who can actually understand the economic history as I posted nor able to refute it but then you can't refute the facts with nonsense and empty claims.

I did just fine in my graduate econ courses. And you still won't even clarify WHICH metric you want to look at. Because of course you won't.

There's nothing to debate if you can't even clarify WHICH metric you want to look at. Try again. This time with some intellectual honesty.

3rd grade courses aren't that reliable. They are basic at best.

The "facts" that you are unwilling to present and/or discuss. Cute.

You're right - this comes as no surprise, just as it came as no surprise that Obama presided over the worst economic recovery in at least 50 years (if not in U.S. history).

But for Brandonistas there's good news! All is going according to plan....

“And when it comes to the gas prices, we're going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it's over, we'll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over.”

“I don’t want to hear any more of these lies about reckless spending. We’re changing people’s lives!

    --Potemkin President Brandon

Not sure where you came up with that. Not sure why you would make up **** like that. Try addressing what I've actually said. You (like all Trump supporters) can't.

When will you hold Biden accountable for anything? Willfully ignorant or just don't care. No one that I know or met will say the president is doing an exceptional job with runaway gas prices and runaway inflation, except perhaps for the Obamas and Clintons.
