Fetterman Says Opponents Have ‘Weaponized’ Fact That He Once Pulled Shotgun on Black Jogger

Democratic Pennsylvania Senate hopeful John Fetterman this week portrayed himself as a victim of Republican attacks over an incident in which he pulled a shotgun on an unarmed black jogger when he was mayor of Braddock, Pa., in 2013.

In a wide-ranging NBC News interview, Fetterman said he was merely "defending" his community when he chased down a black jogger he falsely suspected of firing a gun near his home in the Pittsburgh suburb. Fetterman issued no apology to the man, Christopher Miyares, but instead claimed that his political opponents have "weaponized" the affair against him.

Fetterman has repeatedly defended his actions while casting doubt on Miyares's version of events. "I believe I did the right thing, but I may have broken the law during the course of it," Fetterman said in an interview after the incident.

Very interesting. Not only do I find his actions troubling, but I find the lack of response from liberals and the liberal media very telling of their platform. It's clear liberals only care about bad stuff that happens if you have an R next to your name. If you are a democrat? Silence. For the rest of America who can call a spade a spade, lets hope we vote this gun wielding maniac out of office and the rest of his corrupt bigots with him.

The similarity to this and the murder of Ahmaud Arbery is alarming.

I am not sure why he has not been charged with assault.

And no one was killed. Still should have been prosecuted IMO, but of course a case that involves an actual murder is more likely to get a prosecution than brandishing is.

Not sure but it "shouldnt" matter in a case like this as prosecutors should have been the party to bring charges. I know I would be scared to bring a case against what looks to be a methed out biker gang member.

 

Why would you be scared to bring a case against them? Anyway, agreed that they could have indicted anyway, but it's often the case that they won't if the victim doesn't want to press charges. Again, I have no idea if they did yet, still looking into this. But definitely agreed on the Arbery comparisons so far.

 

As the victim? You asking me why a victim would be scared to press charges? If thats the question, i think a multitude of reasons exist for that. Reliving the moment, fear of him being found not guilty, retaliation, mistrust of court system, etc...

Agree. How is he getting a pass in the court of public opinion after racially profiling, illegally detaining, and assaulting a black man. And I will never be convinced he did not use his position to cover this up.

This guy is the very definition of the left's beloved "institutional racism" and they, and the black community, will vote for him in lock step. It is almost like all that rioting and protesting was for nothing.
