No one outside of Democrats and a few other anti-Trumpers has paid any attention to the 1-6 committee hearings. But most paid attention to the FBI search and the finding of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. In fact, that was when the trend toward the GOP for the recently held midterms switched to the Democrats according to the generic congressional ballot. Add Trump’s very poor quality chosen candidates turned the red wave into a red trickle. Trump became the headline news star, independents who didn’t like Trump much to begin with ended up voting for Democratic Congressional Candidates by a 49-47 margin.

I think an investigation into Hunter Biden is warranted. But be careful here, too many investigations might backfire on the Republicans. Make it look like revenge for the 1-6 investigations of Trump. If it comes across as such, independents probably would desert the GOP once more in 2024 as they did in 2018, 2020 and 2022. It is my opinion since the Republican Party is still the smaller of the two major parties, hence they must win the independent vote to win election, they need to ditch Trump in order to attract independents back to the GOP. Independents are very reluctant to vote for a party’s candidates that is Trump lead, that Trump is the face of. The GOP had everything going for them this midterm, inflation, rising prices and rising crime, immigration etc. Yet limped to taking control of the house, they lost a senate seat and 2 governorships. I chalk this up to independents their dislike of Trump. Today, only 36% of independents view Trump favorably, 58% unfavorably. Get rid of him is my advice if you want to win elections again.

Its also Clintons state department fault for the terrible security before and their response following the attack.

None but glad you admit it was terrorist who attacked as the investigations showed. Why do you complain about the PROPER oversight of the State Department and DOD which were the Benghazi investigations?

What some Republican elected officials are still doing to please the remaining 40% of MAGA is pathetic.

What is McCarthy going to do?

The entire justice system has validated the 1/6 Commission's force of law.

You sound more like a political activist than a student of policy, I'll leave the activism to you.
Congress does have legitimate investigative power, but, not as a criminal investigation, rather as an investigation to determine what legislation may be necessary.

    We agree.

But a little birdie tells me you'll still cry conspiracy if the DOJ moves forward on congressional recommendations to file criminal charges against Trump.

Boring. Get it done already. A DC jury would convict him of bad hair if charged with it, but, if there is insufficient evidence to support the conviction, the Appeals Courts will handle.

When a Democrat is prosecuted, it is only fair.

    When it's a Republican - especially Trump - it's a conspiracy.

??? Nobody denies the Committee's authority to issue subpoena's and is of no relevance to Congress' need to investigate and preserve evidence from the 1/6 Committee.

Sorry, but many MAGA here claim that the 1/6 Committee is unconstitutional.

Trumps not yet been prosecuted, we only have the constant and endless stream of accusations of a wide variety of crime from Democrats and leaked from the DOJ/FBI.

Ive not heard that. Usually the criticism is that Congress(PELOSI) ignored Congress' own internal rules in the appointment of who goes on the Committee. Constitution says nothing on such committee level details.

Because you think Trump will get away with what he did on 1/6?

    No.

A prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich. We're coming up on two years, I'm bored already, where is the indictment?

    I know it's long.

But justice always strikes in the end.

Trump was shown the door in 2020.

The most important candidates he endorsed in 2022 also bit the dust.

He's practically broke and Laeticia James will finish him off financially because he defrauded the government.... the same one he ran for 4 years.

The DOJ is going to sue him for the Top Secret documents he stole + the 1/6 riots.

The future looks bright for him....

Thanks for admitting that your claim that he has been subjected to criminal prosecution, was fake news.

and yet still zero indictments and remains much more likely to be President 1/20/25 as opposed to ever being convicted of anything

This feels like when I was a kid on Xmas eve and would hope that Santa would bring me presents and he never did. Kept getting my hopes up for nothing
(though when I was little, I thought it was because I was Jewish, not because Santa wasn't real)

    You keep making predictions.

I thought you were going to slow down after assuring us of Trump's re-election in 2020 and guaranteeing a red wave that would punish the Dems in the midterms.

Trump will face justice. That's a certainty.
