I swear if someone asked me the price of a product one more time..... We have well over a thousand things in the store and people routinely come in and ask me how much is this.... How much is that.....

Believe it or not the guy behind the counter does not know the price of every random item you might pick up in a gas station.

I'm flattered they think that my memory is that good but it really isn't.

I bet you know more than you let on. Especially the more frequently asked prices.

Just curious. How do you know what to charge them? Do you use a scanner?

Yep, for 90% of stuff, the exception being certain common items like bagged ice and fountain drinks.

Indeed I do but I'm not going to reveal that fact...lol

The problem is I might not know exactly what the price is after tax and if you tell someone what a price is now they think it's a flea market and you're supposed to stick to that price.

We have been watching outer bands since yesterday. The latest I know is it was heading to the West coast. It’s going to be sloppy here for a few days.

Everyone in Idalia's path stay safe.
Baileys for the house. Then we go straight to mixing up pictures of Hurricanes.
We are Hurricane hardy in this bar.

Smartie, what's new? Did you run through all that lotto cash you won yet? I saw you on that My Lottery Dream Home show. The house you picked is beautiful! I was suprised to see you smoking cigars and doing whisky shots with that tattooed guy. I didn't know he smoked and drank like that on the show.

We survived it here. Not a whole lot of rain until about 3:00 a.m. some windy gust and a tornado watch issued around 3:00 a.m. it made me a bit nervous to be in a mobile home. I did not work last night, returning to work tonight.

After hurricane Ian last year hit us with category 5 winds for at least 5 hours straight..... This seemed like nothing.

Of course it is not even September yet so it is way too soon to count our blessings.

The Atlantic is the warmest it’s been in a century. My husband is nervous. He’s not liking the activity. We had some fun bands. the pool is a hot mess. We’ll recover,.

We got some heavy rain here and it's still misting off and on.

The river was a little over 3 ft 24 hours ago and by Thursday afternoon it's going to be at almost 10 ft. It goes into minor flood stage at 11 ft. Last year it got to 24 ft which is the craziest thing I have ever seen and I believe that's as high as the Peace River ever got since they began keeping records around the civil war.

If we get hit this year by a good one I will go to work because it is a concrete block building and my girlfriend can either go to work with me or to her sister's house which is public housing which are very Stout little concrete block houses.

No way am I going to the public shelter which is a large sheet metal agri civic building.

Just waking up and in a little while I'm going to take a dirt bike ride and see what I see

Idalia gave us a bit of rain and some wind and that was all. The rain was needed to help with the drought that is happening. It has been very dry here and along with the high temperatures not pleasant at all. I am sure we have had hotter temperatures just don't remember when. These temperatures will make you want to be a better person.

I didn't realize they handed out Olympic metals for smoking cigars and drinking whiskey.

    Enjoying day 3 of semi-retirement.

I think I'm doing more work than when when I wasn't semi-retired. Our little produce stand is just holding ground, but today is opening day of football in Tennessee, so it will be quiet....

I went to a family reunion today. I have been dreading this thing for two months but it turned out to be quite lovely (mostly because one of my aunts and her toxic children who lived 10 miles away from the place never showed up :) ). Also snagged a copy of that side of the family's genealogy back to Lord somebody in the 1200's and discovered that my ancestors were some of the dreaded Mayflower people whose Puritanical ways ruined the pot-smoking, orgy-having Hippie Commune that America could have become but for them. Otherwise I might have been Lord Coosh :weed::weed:

It’s an honor badge. Offered to those who hang tough and return, no matter what happened the night before.

I hope this isn’t one of those rough bars…. I’ve frequented them before, one time I was singled-out as the guy to pick a fight with. You know- pick a fight with the big guy or the bad-ass looking man to make a name for one’s self. I wasn’t interested in his challenge, all turned out fine.

What the hell is going on with kids these days? I regularly see teenagers out between the hours of 2 and 4:00 a.m. and I'm talking about ones that look as young as 13 years old.

Two girls came in the store that look perhaps 13 or 14 and ask to use my phone to call their mom. Mom did not answer. Then they asked me if I could give them a drink and they didn't have any money so me being the softy I am I bought them a drink.

There is no way in hell back when I was 13 or 14 that we have been out roaming around at 2:00 to 4:00 a.m. and if we were we snuck out and we sure as hell weren't calling our parents. Do the parents even give a s*** these days?
