It would be very difficult in tennis or basketball attire, or scuba diving. Bowling.....most of the time is spent sitting around, and anyone could easily carry on person, or in the bag, but if you say its impossible, then so be it. I know some people have one in their golf bags, or on person in dart leagues, and fishing boats. If you live in fear of getting shot at any given time, then you'd be wise to avoid places where its impossible to carry a gun.

I am not an avid bowler these days-I had about a 200 average in a college league though and my son earned three varsity bowling letters at a huge HS in Ohio and when he was on the team, I bowled with him a bunch. It would have been a hassle wearing a holster while bowling. The point I am making is that I doubt many people who were at that targeted bowling facility were packing.

One Maine Congressman says he's reversed position on the issue of banning assault weapons:

"Representative Jared Golden, a Marine Corps veteran who lives in Lewiston, Maine, said Thursday that in light of the recent mass shooting in his hometown he was changing his view on banning assault-style weapons.

"'Humility is called for as accountability is sought by victims of a tragedy such as this one,' Golden said at a news conference alongside other officials.

"Arguably the most conservative Democrat in the House, Golden said that 'I have opposed efforts to ban deadly weapons of war like the assault rifle used to carry out this crime.'

"'The time has come for me to take responsibility for this failure,' he said. 'Which is why I now call on the United States Congress to ban assault rifles like the one used by the sick perpetrator of this mass killing.'"

I guess he's not familiar with Bruen or the various AWB bills already introduced in Congress.

he also is woefully ignorant if he thinks new assault rifles can still be bought by American citizens. Sounds like he's a virulent liar

Maaate! That would not be in accordance with the NRAs rule book on how to “sell a massacre”

No and I mean NO evidence that “gun free zones” increase the risk of mass shooting

LOL, while the gun banning left are gleefully howling about this massacre-at least until the facts come out that may diminish its value for pushing the gun ban narrative. The NRA has never "sold massacres". However, we know that the anti gun groups do. And I find it hilarious you are complaining about the NRA "smearing" anti gun activists when smearing the NRA is common in anti gun literature and your own posts

OH I urge everyone who supports gun rights to read that the Islamist mouthpiece concerning the NRA.

well gun free areas increase the likelihood that no one can stop the mass shooter quickly

I win! But let’s turn this on its head - where is the proof that “gun free zones” are targeted?

Prediction-a gun banning feeding Frenzy will happen shortly

Get back to us when MORE than a SINGLE Congressperson changes their mind on this issue because it is NOT going to happen UNLESS a MAJORITY of them change.

The MAGA Khaos Kaw-Kuss controls the House and the Speakership.

Blue states are NOT going to touch that 3rd rail this close to another election.

They would be foolish to provide the GOP with any "ammunition" to use in 2024.

Instead mass killings like this just FUELS the efforts of March For Our Lives to get out the vote.

Premise of the OP FAILS critical scrutiny.

The most notable flaw is that no common definition for mass shooting is used. One footnote leads a study where four of more killed in used; another (Everytown) use "four or more shot" to get to 600 mass shootings per year. The commonly used Mother Jones definition for mass shooting defines a mass shooting as:

    upload_2023-10-27_8-26-58.png

Rand notes seven different commonly used definitions for "mass shooting".

"1–What type of firearms were used in the attack – and what is the make and model of each weapon?

"2–What capacity and number of ammunition magazine(s) were used in the shooting?

"3–Were the weapons acquired legally, what was the source, and did the shooter have a concealed carry permit?

"4–How many other mass shootings are known to have been committed with the same make/model of firearms?

"5—How are the guns marketed by the manufacturers?"
    https://vpc.org/press/5-questions-to-ask-in-the-wake-of-a-mass-shooting/

As I understand an AR15 was used in the attack and Maine does not require a permit to carry a gun. As for how they are marketed, the House Oversight Committee found:

"These companies use 'aggressive marketing tactics' to target young men by emphasizing masculinity, making veiled references to white supremacist groups, and touting military-grade weaponry, the committee report said.

"'The business practices of these gun manufacturers are deeply disturbing, exploitative, and reckless,' Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, committee chairwoman, said in a statement."

that was when the house was run by the gun banning party. Carolyn Maloney is one of the nadirs of truthfulness when it comes to guns. she also is intellectually bankrupt and a lying POS
