Religion aside, it should be taught from every place in America that American freedom and our equality of rights in our freedom, is based on the self evident truth that there is one God from whom we all spring. On this concept our Forefathers fought the war for American Independence.

It is also self evident that the notion among many today that our Forefathers declaration was empty rhetoric, is itself an empty and unenlightened notion, divorced from reality. Americans should labor to keep this truth alive, rather than expend our energies to its perpetual demise to cover our own iniquity. A sense of gratefulness and obligation should be the first fruits of freedom.

It's from our nations Declaration Of Independence, which was followed by a real war to achieve independence. That's why we are able to celebrate July 4th every year as the day of America's independence from Great Britain. China had nothing to do with it.

 

Obviously a false assertion, that worshippers should not gather together. For some, this communion with fellow congregants, is essential to their practice, and could even be equal in significance, to their communion with the Divine. Therefore, your statement is highly subjective, as if all people might, or should, feel the same way about their spirituality, as do you, about your own.

I think the OP has a good point. The only reason to gather together is so the priest class can extract money from the simple-minded. It's a good business too, look how rich churches have become (except for the ones bankrupted on account of raping children) which is why they have proliferated. Also a useful exercise in crown control, can't have people actually think for themselves, now, can we?

Independence from any personal biblical interpretation, not independence from God. But rather independence in one true God from whom we all spring, the particulars of which are secured in the first amendment to the Constitution. Consequently, religious liberty isn't a question of whether or not God lives. But that it is up to the individual to navigate for him/her self the self evident truth that he does. American freedom is a matter of the grace and mercy of God. Our founding Fathers were his servants in that space of time in which our freedom was secured. So it stands to reason that God has greater plans for our nation than Monday Night Football.

To me it means that Congress can't force us to serve the devil, or prevent us from serving God by for instance, our acknowledging that the very liberty to do so comes from him.

 

Rights are logically derived. They were always derived from some combination of logic and emotions, because the voices in their heads were not gods. They have nothing to do with a god, whose existence is unlikely. The desire for god largely reflects people's discomfort with mortality.

Yes I agree, the Constitution which wouldn't exist were it not for the God of our Forefathers. Why do you keep turning a blind eye to our own history. If your Mother bakes you a delicious birthday cake. Do you see only the cake and how special you are. And ignore the heartfelt sacrifice of your own Mother who gave a part of her priceless finite life for you because she loves you? So why ignore the sacrifices of our founding Fathers and the love for us of the God who made our country free. Our lives, our freedom and our rights in freedom are not owed to us. They are a gift from God and our ancestors. Our own founding documents and history are evidence of that. But all you can think about is another bite of that cake.

 

Were they logical they'd not have risked their lives and fortunes which were substantial. Fortunately they did take that risk. And we are blessed with freedom based in God which is not a concept or realm so easily undone as the transitory whims of men and tyrants.
