Because he's trying to save you from yourself. See, there are hundreds of millions of firearm owners out there, and a mere 3% of those being willing to kill or die before complying will amount to literally millions of deaths. Some law enforcement, some those 3%, some bystanders, some all of the above. But, you're suggesting setting a wildfire of tens of thousands of acres to blaze to put out a single campfire.

    Not wise...

that would probably not only fail, it would mean the end, politically, of anyone or group that tried it
the real irony is that those trying it are going to be using weapons and that of course means those opposing it will be too

well we both know that your desire for the government to seize all guns and kill anyone who resists won't happen and we both know you wouldn't be involved in trying to achiever that sick result anyway so I am going to just laugh at the suggestion this be done

Which is irrelevant, to the discussion of violence and what causes it. Hint it’s not lightning or AR’s.
True or not your saying a lot of words, but nothing about the root cause or causes of violence in America.

    “There’s a name …”

Then you don’t even say what it is. That’s telling and indicates you don’t have a solution, you just don’t want your guns “banned”.

I didn’t say anything about AR’s. Turtle offered a word salad that doesn’t address the fact that the call to ban guns would become a nearly inaudible whisper IF OUR children and loved one’s weren’t being killed as they go about their lives.

We, U.S. need to determine what is driving our countrymen to commit this insanity of murdering innocent people. And fix that.

I agree its NOT firearms. Taking them ALL ,“I” don’t believe, will save a life and only make ALL Americans vulnerable to tyranny. We must solve what is broken in our society that is causing this insane violence.

The chief cause of violence in America is broken homes and shattered families. It is now a multi generational problem and it is not arithmetic it is geometric. the worst part of course is that you can't do much for the current victims, of this brokenness beyond taking them out of circulation. Broken legs are easy broken minds however are difficult and nearly impossible when the mind in question is unwilling to admit that it has a problem.

    So....

You're telling us that you are more than happy to sacrifice the lives of millions of people, many of them innocents who are just in the wrong place at the wrong time, as a "reasonable" trade for reducing homicide rates in the USA by a completely unknown and likely small number of existing and expected future crimes, based on historical run rates, because millions of deaths is a better solution than just dealing with the ~10,000 homicides per year (which sounds like a lot, but when compared to a total population of 330,000,000 is nothing!), just because you are afraid of an armed citizen?

    Do I have that right?

And you realize that you live in a country that takes pride in our freedoms, including not being unduly harassed by law enforcement for owning tools that is our FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO OWN???

But none of that matters, kill the non-believers, amirite???

It's part of the weak dependent clause of the 2nd amendment, in case you weren't sure.
