I've often thought that Republicans - on this forum and their media - are exaggerating the level of leftist indoctrination in American schools. Until now.

Ever heard of Oakland Education Association (OEA)? Neither did I, until recently, when the OEA decided that children must be brainwashed and radicalized from a young, and preferably younger, age.

This is a snipett from their guidelines for pre-K to 2nd graders:
"75 years ago, a lot of decision makers around the world decided to take away Palestinian land to make a country called Israel. Israel would be a country where rules were mostly fair for Jewish people with white skin."

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/...5VQxj5hph0MJVHeQh-VqtQ6PCPa1QtQg2Woxe0_ue/pub

Two detested birds with one stone. Brilliant, if one's a racist.

The rest of their educational resources is more of the same:
    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yHuTs87SSfWaM6qeM6y3RXgEOzjiKF_c75fLMN-2fZk/edit

I've always thought that children should be taught how to think, not what to think. What do you think?

And if they ever take us down, the moderate/traditional left is next.

There is nothing classically liberal about the neo-left.

    They're modern day bolsheviks.

I fully agree. Revisionist or ideologue history has no place in any school.

    True.

The Soviet Stalinist ideology is flourishing in the least likely place on Earth, the USA. Your own freedoms are allowing, even encouraging it. As it should be in a free society, of course. The burning question is, how should your education system correct itself in order to eliminate indoctrination in schools? I'm talking about pre-K to post-doctorate.

No, this part is what you think is true. It's not an established fact, it's an opinion.

Teaching history is not about taking sides. Children should be taught facts, not their teachers' biases. If children are going to learn about opinions, they should hear all sides.

Sorry but the US and England went to a plot of land and said this is now the country of Israel and there were already people living there.

It's not even really an opinion. Jews lived there as long as anyone else, and the people there now didn't own the land under the Ottoman Empire.

Yes people that decided instead of sharing the land, they would kill the new people.

Does this mean you'd like us to start killing illegal aliens entering the US?

That is really hard because the hard left has taken over many universities, and those schools train the teachers.

When I went to college in the late 1960s and early ‘70s, most all of the liberal arts professors were liberals. They weren’t militant about it, and you could express an opposing view. Still if you didn’t come out school with anything but the liberal point of view, it was unusual.

Today it’s far worse. In the early 1980s, when I was in graduate school, NYU, New York University in New York City, was joking called “NY Jew” because of its large Jewish student base. Now in light of October 7, Jewish students there are harassed and concerned for their safety. Jewish students have had to barricade themselves in a room in the library for their own safety.

Left wing students in the ‘60s made fun of ROTC and Republican students, but it never came to personal violence. Yes, an idiot made a half assed effort to set fire to the ROTC building, and some others tried to disrupt some ROTC exercises, but it was nothing like today.

Activism needs to be outlawed in a learning environment, and all viewpoints should be required to be allowed. Eliminating DEI is another great start. Critical theory has to go. It's the most damaging concept to come around in a very long time.

As you said, teaching kids how to think is the most important thing you can do. The ramifications of not being able to think for yourself are evident on this forum every day.

    They didn't own land either.

I love how you brought up the native americans though, since Jews are native Gazans.

Which doesn't negate the fact that outsiders controlled the destiny of the people who lived in that area.

Outsiders always controlled it all the way back to the Roman Empire's attacks on the native Jews that lived there.

Why are you against giving the Jews back their native lands?

That didn't make sense. Try again based on your limited knowledge of the subject.

There WAS a country called Israel thousands of years ago that owned the land, they were then conquered and it was no longer their land.

If you went to school in the US and this is what they taught you, the situation is even worse than I thought.

So when Gaza is conquered it no longer belongs to them is what you're saying.

Thanks for the clarification on where you stand.

Which facts are objectively true, and which ones are biased in favor of some group, especially the current regime?

"Israel is a sovereign state in a region called the Middle East, in Asia. Opinions about Israel differ greatly. Different people have different opinions. You'll be able to form your own opinion about Israel after you learn basic facts in history classes."
