Anybody think that any of the current gop candidates will ACTUALLY beat Obama?

Hopefully this doesn't turn into a total talk trash thread. But was just wondering the pulse out there for how us voters feel. Personally I don't see any of these candidates in a race for several months and debates without being made a fool of. Obama is an excellent talker and even made Hillary Clinton look foolish. Now, I am not saying I agree or disagree with what he will say. Just the fact that in a campaign I want to see how people realistically match up with him. Please share your honest opinions and please share some credible reasons as to why you think they would do good or not. Like for me I feel Obama could talk circles around these guys, and the gop has done a poor job of presenting themselves and look totally unprofessional. But that's my opinion.

The republican presidential primary these days pretty much makes it impossible to get elected in the real elections . Look at perry turning to birthers to get back some popularity .

Obama has feet of clay. He's collapsing from his own weight of ineptitude and whoever is the GOP candidate will beat him, even with the typical demorat voting fraud hijinx.

Perry does look a lot like Lee Majors, and that does impress republicans. But I don't see anybody coming from the GOP that can get anything except for the republican diehards that are just going to vote republican no matter what.

It's that same situation that seems to come up so often. Against an unnamed republican, Obama doesn't do so good in the polls. But put a name to that republican and he wins.

I wrote a calculator program a few months ago based on RCP's 2012 election map, and it returned that Obama's re-election chances are only 54%. Also, Gallup's generic ballot polling keeps alternating between Obama and the Republicans. So yeah, Republicans definitely have a fighting chance: as for which candidates have the best chance, head-to-head polls show that the more moderate and level-headed ones are the more competitive against Obama. Mitt Romney is probably the most competitive of the bunch, which is a big reason why Obama's campaign has already started trying to bring him down.

Each of them can, esp Ron Paul. Actually I take that back. Romney can't- we already tried the liberal repub last time around, McCain lost.

Looking smart won't win the election.
People will have to want to vote for him. will they?

So you think the super right wing can win? Keep masturbating and eventually you will be a sex god, but it won't make anyone pregnant, and no one will really know. If a moderate republican can't win why do you fantasize about some crazy conservative fanatic winning? Do you really believe the majority of US citizens are as conservative and as right wing as you? They are not.

I guess so. I can't help but see parallels between sexual withdrawal and political stagnancy. It has to explode eventually.

Particularly, most Americans remain smart enough to NOT want to give the wealthiest ANOTHER massive tax cut while the wealthiest income has QUADRUPLED, and give themselves a MASSIVE tax INCREASE while their own pay and benefits are being gutted.

The Republican tax plans get goofier every week! Cain's 9-0-9??? Are we sure he is not just playing the Lottery?

And how does Perry's "pay the OLD way OR the NEW way" do any good? Now we have DOUBLED the tax code, and DOUBLED the wealthy's LOOPHOLES while HALVING their taxes!!

That depends. Foreign nationals voting. Dead people voting. NBPP intimidating voters with immunity. Absentee ballots "mistakenly" going to someone other than the proper recipients. Orders from Der Fuerher for his purple shirts to "get in their faces" and the ever popular "reward our friends and punish our enemies". I suppose Obama could win.

McCain tied Obama in the debates, despite Obama's supposed edge. Romney or Cain won't have any problems in a debate. Honestly, Obama's only chance is is the democratic base shows up at close to 100%. It's not going to happen. Presidents don't win reelection when unemployment is over 8%, and it has never been under 8% during Obama's misadministration.

Moderate Republicans can't win because they don't bring out the Republican base. Reagan was no moderate, and he won. The problem is that, lately, the Republicans have been choosing the person who was the second place finish at the previous cycle's nomination process.

I think Gingrich..in spite of his personal life..will end up being the Republican candidate..And short of Obama overthowing our government or outright stealing the election..Gingrich will beat him..

Why?..While each of the candidates may have a good idea or two..they don't have enough to win the day. Romney is a retread..and he has been hanging at about the same percentage forever..no matter what the rest of them do. Some like him better than Obama, but not enough to elect him unless he is the ONLY choice.

Perry will never regain his momentum, Cain doesn't have all he needs and Paul, while he has some good ideas; he is too far out there for most of the voters. The rest of the candidates should just pack it in..they aren't even relevant.

Gingrich can..and I predict will..eventually meet Romney in the debate and have his way with him..and Obama won't know what hit him when their debate happens....He won't be able to stand the onslaught of knowledge with his divisive rants.

Funny. I wouldn't have said this but I get your point. The gop candidates are exposing each others weaknessess on a daily basis. There needs to be a major meeting within the gop to get their stuff together.

    Here's the problem...

Neither side is terribly brilliant but the Democrats are generally less abrasive. They are also smart enough to appear to be trying to cooperate with Republicans for the common good.

So for as thick as Democrats can be...Republicans have a distinct disadvantage...The Tea Party. They are generally certifiable...

So Obama will win...if for no other reason but that the alternative is scary.

Is there a reason why a lot of TP don't recognize this about themselves? It has been out there for 2 years now and they have done nothing to change there image at all. I would also say the TP is a weakness to the republicans.

Let me hit you with a little reality to help offset your total nonsense. Polling of the moderates (many if not all who voted for obama last election) are practically all going for the Republican candidate this time around. No sitting scoundrel in the White House has ever won re-election by having over 8% unemployment. My guess is that the unemployment rate will continue to rise past the current 9.1%. Any of the [R] candidates would beat obamarat in debates for the simple reason that obamarat won't have access to his teleprompter, and I'm still not sure that he knows how many states there are in America. His obamascare health scam will be coming to a head/vote by the Supreme Court next spring, just in time to totally sink his already failing agenda. Once obamascare becomes history--obamarat will also become history. What exactly can this turkey run on for accomplishments while acting as our potus? Nothing...that's what. Did you happen to see an obamarat/Romney matchup in critical purple states...most of which obamarat won last time around? Romney blows him away in every one of those crucial battleground states. About all you got left is to bring out that tired old mantra for obamarat....'Hope & Change'. When moderates go to the polls, there will be no way in hell that any of them are going to vote for the socialist in chief. What a dissappointing piece of garbage this clown has been in disgracing and destroying our nation.
