Aaaaand.......another state having more fun with marijuana legalization than Washington.
I can't wait for a few years from now when we can stop reading about this every day.

 

I live in a medium sized city in Oregon. We have pot stores all over town. Maybe six of them. I haven't counted. Some sell medical marijuana and some are recreational dope stores. Every now and then I'll see a person entering a store or leaving. They are always young. I guess we don't have any elder pot heads in town. Since I haven't even come close to the terrible weed for about half a century it is not part of my life. The only evidence of the stuff here is a slight increase in traffic accidents. Cops are catching kids driving after having smoked pot. They are selling marijuana laced candy now. The dopers talk about it as if it is a big deal, like goodie goodie. People my age who were in our 20's during the big dope era of the 60's have had half a century now to look back on dope and dopers. We have long experience with the drug and drug users. Don't even try to tell us that we don't know what we are talking about. The people who were heavy drug users are all dead. The people who were light drug users have stopped. Of course today the marijuana is much stronger than it was in my day, about three times stronger. My advice, for whatever it is worth is....stay away from the stuff.

 

I always like the part about "well their not hurting anybody". I and many tike yourself have seen our share of our friends start on weed and graduate to higher things. I have a couple friends to this day who are airheads from just using marijuana. "They only hurt their selves " I have seen my share of family's where the children are taken away and spouses leave each other. I have seen some who have went on to bigger things and they will steal the house from underneath you given the chance. The one question that is never really asked is WHY? We drink and use drugs, not because they taste good, we do it for the EFFECT. Once we can no longer be satisfied with what we are using we search for a stronger substitude or increase our amount.
