‘For the Children’: Nancy Pelosi Announces Run for Reelection

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has announced her run for reelection despite the fact it could mean her serving out her final congressional years in the minority party.

In a video announcement on Tuesday, Pelosi said that she will seek another term for the benefit of “the children” and the promotion of San Francisco values: LGBTQ equality, abortion, and much more.

“Thank you for giving me the privilege to represent our city and our San Francisco values in the Congress,” she said before a backdrop of San Francisco’s famed Alamo Square. “Human rights, reproductive justice, LGBTQ equality, respect for immigrants, and care for each other.”

Pelosi emphasized that her decades-long political career, in which she has enriched herself through questionable Wall Street trading maneuvers, has been fueled by her love of … the children.…

Talk about a self serving arrogant witch! The hypocrisy laced rhetoric surrounding her announcement is enough to cause one to wank to puke. She is the face of democrat party leadership corruption.

How much of her millions from insider trading did she give to the children again?

 

I like her way less after she refused to support a ban on stock market trades. She will win easily however.

She also said “Human rights, reproductive justice, LGBTQ equality, respect for immigrants, and care for each other” — all things she has actually been very vocal for.

I gotta say, she seems to be mostly out on an island with that one... It's a tough issue. Can you ban somebody who serves 10 terms in the House or 3/4 in the Senate (20 years) from trading individual stocks? And their spouses? On the surface, the blind trust seems OK, but those rules can still be bent... I would suggest some sort of preapproval, but stock purchasing is a time-sensitive event.

I suppose mutual funds is the only answer long term.

BTW, when I hear her say "for the children", my assumption is she's talking about McCarthy and his minions... those are the children we need Nancy there for...

 

I wish she'd go away, but there is nothing new in politicians saying stuff to get reelected. As a matter of fact, its the ONLY way to get reelected. In the end of the say its up to the voters in her district to either vote for her or against her.

I won’t call these people children, children are innocent and do not know better. These people are malicious and evil.

 

Of course she does, it's San Francisco. She could murder someone on 5th avenue and STILL be elected to the House. That's why there has to be a Republican movement. She's the worst speaker ever.

 

My state invests money into individual accounts for public employees. Professional managers make all the investment decisions, not the employees. In my state this is called the Individual Account Program.

The federal government has a program for its employees called the TSP (for Thrift Savings Program) which is similar.

IMO, members of Congress and their spouses should not be allowed to individually hold stock or make trades. They should all be completely divorced from the stock market. As a condition of taking their seats in Congress, they should divest themselves of their stocks. The proceeds from those sales could go into their TSP account and be managed by the same people who manage all federal employees’ TSP accounts until such time as they left Congress.

If they don’t like those conditions, don’t run for Congress.

Separating members of Congress from the stock market is OBVIOUSLY the right thing to do, and it’s perfectly do-able.

 

She does it for her bank account and portfolio.

Joe Biden does it for the access to kids... and his bank account and portfolio.

 

Sorry, but anybody who defended T**** over the years talking about divesting just makes me laugh...
