Truckers HATE convoys for the most part. Most are actually instructed to avoid them as you must be constantly alert to avoid running into the vehicle in front or rammed from the rear. Same with cars; avoid the 'wolf packs' charging down the road 3 feet from each other while miles of wide expressway are empty all around. It's MUCH easier to drive when you have the road to yourself.

And PLEASE let's not hear the "breaker breaker" mythology which assumes that police are incapable of listening to radios and setting up traps for speeders themselves

Another group observed, some in horror, from several hundred yards away.

Well somehow a spark was thrown and that leaky gas spraying pipe became a fuel air bomb. It didn't kill them all immediately.

Dozens of people walked like zombies away from the pipeline fully immoliated until they collapsed.

The gas collectors thought the observers were idiots for not getting free gas and the other group though the gas collectors were idiots for risking their lives for a few bags of gas.
