Trump is the one that thought it was a big deal... lol

Trump makes himself look like a fool in public and you blame the news for reporting it?

But... It's the "Art of the Deal".... Walk away from the table and pretend you don't want something, so Denmark will call us in 3-6 months and beg us to take it...:shock:

That'll be the spin at some point, guaranteed....

But good call! Personally, I think it would be great if Greenland either was associated with a Western Hemisphere country OR be it's own country (it's awfully small, population wise) and allied with the West. Like Iceland, it's a good location to be a protection for us.

Pretty sure if Denmark wanted to sell him Greenland, they'd have done it then.

Sure they are, or will be, or should be. I'm not one of those 'it takes a village' types. I'm a realist, everyone is our enemy, soon to be enemy, or should be our enemy. When the **** hits the fan they all will be, best to be prepared for that than surprised by their inevitable betrayal. Denmark is an insignificant nothing. The fact the US even acknowledges its existence should have them wet their pants with excitement. Instead their pathetic village elder or whatever passes for a leader there insults the greatest country the world has ever known. If they weren't our enemy, they should be...

I think Trump will have to show them the juice is worth the squeeze.

At the same time, Denmark is not meeting its NATO obligations.

    "Denmark the least inoffensive country?"

The country that mocks Swedish political correctness?

The country that takes the children of immigrants to teach them Danish values in order to fight off immigrant ghettos and lack of integration?
    https://www.vox.com/world/2018/7/3/17525960/denmark-children-immigrant-muslim-danish-ghetto
The country that basically gave the middle-finger to the EU? Twice?
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35002158
The country that rejects the EU and its "multicultural"(note: Monocultural, as in Islamic) bullsheit?
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wo...EU-referendum-is-a-blow-to-David-Cameron.html

I've got way more but will stop for people's sanity's sake. The Danes does not take any shiet from anyone, especially not foreign powers/individuals/institutions.

As far as Trump and his deal with wanting to buy Greenland goes: Wut? Really Don? The kind of whacky crap is this? My only thought is "Is Trump really going to buy Greenland or is he just bullsh*tting around for the media to take the bait?"

Denmark is not an 'enemy' of the United States. Russia however, is a long time adversary to the US and to democracy. But, Trump agrees with Putin more than he agrees with US intelligence. You really don't see anything wrong with this picture?

This isn't about Russia, this is about the enemy state of Denmark, or should be. For far too long Eurotrash nobodies have taken disrespectful shots at America, it is time that ended. Boycott Denmark! Too bad they don't actually make anything all that useful...

We are the most powerful country on the planet. If we start acting like we can just come and take what we want then how can you expect us to have friends and allies? What Trump did today really hurt the US image. And Trumps twitter rage about how big and strong the USA is and how small and pathetic Denmark is does not help. Trump acts like we should be bullying everyone into submission.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t agree with that.
And if Trump is really aching to bully another country then there are much better candidates out there - Russia and Iran come to mind first.

If we don't take it now, it will just be more difficult to take it later, especially Canada. Its about the wider future. Denmark will never be strong enough to hold or control Greenland, like Canada cannot protect its resources. The US is never going to allow either to fall into enemy hands, so inevitably we will have to take both. Buying Greenland is a great deal, too bad those Eurotrash nobody's are too stupid to take it. I've been advocating the annexation of Canada for decades, I have no problem just adding Greenland to that list. Not everything is about what lesser nations think, that's pointless. Instead of them whining about the US they should be bettering themselves to become superpowers, otherwise they will stay weak and pathetic, and their very existence will rely on our willingness to save the from themselves. We may not be as generous in the future as we have been in the past. This really has nothing to do with Trump...

Bullies don't take on opponents they cannot dominate completely....

But Denmark, for crying out loud??... Next, Trump will be dissing New Zealand or Sri Lanka.....

He truly is a spectacular failure. I had my distinct doubts in January 2017, but he's massively exceeded my wildest expectations of stupidity... He makes Junior Bush look like a visionary statesman....

Denmark being an 'enemy state' is absolutely ridiculous bordering on insanity. Trump is pissed off because the Danish president called his desire to buy Greenland 'absurd', which it IS. There's no way in hell that Denmark is in any way an 'enemy state'. The United States has become a joke all around the world because of Trump. Everyone is laughing at him and us because of him. He's a disgrace and an embarrassment to this nation.

You couldn't be more wrong. Nobody is laughing, Trump has begun addressing the exploitation by lesser nations. He is tackling trade, getting those cheapskate Eurotrash to pay their fair share for defense, and actually making progress to denuclearize North Korea. I don't see anything funny there, do you? Nobody should care if lesser nations laugh, they are irrelevant, they should focus on improving themselves anyway...

You haven't been paying attention for the past 3 years. OF COURSE every major country in the world is mocking Trump and laughing at us for being so stupid as to elect such a despotic imbecile. Nobody respects the US anymore. His only "friend" is Vladimir Putin. Just look at this photo of the G7 last year. It's obvious that the 'grown ups' in the room are trying to educated the ranting infantile US president as to how things really work in the world. He's an idiot and destroying this country.

If they were laughing, they wouldn't be complying. NATO countries are contributing more money than they ever did under Obama, you think that makes the them laugh? We dropped out of that disaster Paris agreement, that puts the pressure on the other morons in the industrialized world, you think they are laughing about that? We are working to get North Korea to denuclearize, nobody else, you think that's funny? If you listen to moronic liberal talking heads they will try and convince you people are laughing, but take a moment to look at the actions of these lesser nations, and you will not see laughter, you will see compliance. These lesser nations are finally learning their place, and they don't like it, its no laughing matter.

You want to know the last time the world laughed at the US, when Obama made his redline and then failed to carry through. That is a laughingstock moment, one of the worst in our history. Trump has done nothing to warrant all the hate being thrown at him. It makes many of his opponents in the US look like foreign sympathizers instead of patriotic citizens, but then again, that's expected these days...

    Very true.

However, the rest of the world did not have to wait for this Greenland episode to know that Trump is trying to bully everyone into submission. This may have worked with his contractors, who had no power against his billions. With foreign nations, there is something called pride. If you hurt their pride, the outcome may be opposite of what trump imagines, no matter what the money or power imbalance may be like.

Taking Canada? Wow, even for Trump fans this insanity is at a whole new level.

The rest of the post: A whole bunch of unwarranted superiority complex claptrap.

I called for the same all the way back to the Bush years. Think it through, they can't defend their resources or their borders, which means for our own safety we have to. Yet they pay a fraction on defense, they couldn't stop angry girl scouts from invading. They rely entirely upon us for their survival, and when push comes to shove, it will be US blood that wins the day. I will not support a country like Canada to exist only at the cost of US blood, that's just idiotic. Canada has a resource everyone will need soon enough, accessible fresh water. You just have to look into the longer term, fresh water is already an issue, just not that critical yet, but it will be.

The superiority is a simple fact. Every nation that isn't a superpower is a lesser nation. Instead of whining about the US they should improve themselves, or at least have the good graces to surrender their sovereignty to someone worthy. US citizens that appease these lesser nations are doing them no favors, they are still lesser, only they can uplift themselves...

The US has had bases on Greenland since 1951.. and they can handle up to 10,000 people. Trump probably doesn't know that either.
