HBO host and comedian Bill Maher argued that liberal media has been “wrong a lot” regarding COVID-19 during his Sunday appearance on “The Ben Shapiro Show.”

Maher cited a March 21, 2021, New York Times piece that reported 41% of Democrats believed over 50% of COVID-positive individuals had to be hospitalized, when in fact, only 1-5% of those contracting the virus will end up in the hospital.

“That’s a crazy number, to be off that much. No wonder they think you need a mask everywhere. If you think half the people who get it need to go to the hospital when it’s really 1%….

Bill Maher is right about this. The lamestream news media is full of it. It has gotten almost everything wrong about covid. It’s ridiculous how far off base they have been. They do it in the service of blue Governors, mayors, and now a presidents regime.

 

They were wrong about the lock downs. They were wrong about masks. They were wrong to advocate for compelled vaccines and your papers please. 0 for everything

 

Not here in Florida. They reported Florida was locked down hard and long, and it was 100% true.

 

They reopened as soon as Trump ended the 30 days to stop the spread and haven’t looked back since…

 

I knew hospitalizations were less than 5%, i still wore a mask everywhere. I still wear it at the grocery store.

 

No, that is not even close to the truth. I live here, so I know. Heck, even golf courses and boat ramps were closed for a coupled of months, and restaurants were shut down for about 6 months, and grocery stores, hardware stores and pretty much any other business required masks for over a year. Smaller towns lifted orders sooner, but bigger population centers were locked down HARD. I know someone who drove down from Seattle and he said South Florida was more serious than anything he saw along the way.

with this great examplw of the usa vulnerability to bio weapons, is it not inevitable that our enemies will attack with some weaponized virus?

 

well, the disease is really only causing issues for a small, very small # of people. we could lose a few without getting really fussy.

 

as long as those few are choosing themselves, rather than the teachers, nurses, and essential workers who are exposed with little choice.

So the whole world got it wrong not just the USA, we just had far worse results than most of the world.

 

Almost the whole country outside of South Dakota and a few other places was locked down from mid March 2020 to the end of April that year. What we are contesting the blue side over is from May 1st that year on. Florida and Georgia led the way on that. The msm and the blue side gave everyone wanting to reopen guilt trips and called us selfish.

 

I just told you that what you are saying is simply not true aka it is a lie. Florida was locked down hard way beyond May, and beyond the whole summer. Restaurants here started opening around September, and mask mandates lasted another 6 months from there.

 

Everyone is vulnerable to bio weapons. Countries that locked down the hardest and had the most and strictest mandates are suffering omicron terribly right now, particularly China. In the USA the states with the most controls over its citizens had the highest death rates.

Keep your junk links. I live here, so I know what happened and have zero reason or motivation to lie about it. During the lock downs, I posted the local restrictions and mandates frequently.

Heck, even your link says the Gov reopened in “ very small, limited, and methodical” way and even that excluded the largest population centers.

What is your motivation to argue about something as silly as this, when I know for fact that happened in my home area?

No they weren't. I was in Florida during that time. In places like St Augustine they posted signs on their doors to their businesses.
If you have a mask, do not enter.
I saw a lot of cities in Florida that were not going along with the lock downs at all.

I went to two funerals, took a 10 day vacation, and was visiting relatives in Orlando, Tampa, and Ft Lauderdale.
Other than the mandates for restaurants, it wasn't that bad at all.
I even opened up food stands for hot meals for truckers and gave away free BBQ dinners at the rate of 300-500 a day for 60 days right in the middle of the restaurant lockdowns.

 

The left falls for all propaganda reference their pivot to Ukraine.

That's an interesting question. Given that we've proven ourselves to be a selfish society in general, too stubborn to take simple precautions like getting shots or wearing masks, an enemy in possession of biological, weaponized diseases would be sorely tempted, don't you think?
