I think the the above is a gross oversimplification. None of the the World Leaders at the time went (or were) 'bat **** crazy' as you put it. In fact in the decades prior to the war the Western World was going through the kind of economic, social and scientific boom that wasn't to occur again until the end of the century - it took that long for world trade (as a % or economic output to return pre-WW1 levels).

What you had were an interlocking series of political and military allies designed to counterbalance one another at a global level. And absolutely no conception of what a Global war would actually look like, how damaging it would be or how long it would take to resolve if one did actually break out. We do know now of course (hindsight is a wonderful thing) and that's why Politicians and diplomats today work so hard at preventing confrontations from escalating the way they did back then.

Do you think an incident like the recent massing of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border and all the issues around Russia's occupation of Odessa etc would have been settled without mass bloodshed if it occurred in 1914 rather than 2021?

Rasputin gave Tsar Nicholas II a true prophecy... unfortunately, the Tsar didn't embrace it.

Britain's King George V, Germany's Kaiser Wilhelm II and Russia's Tsar Nicholas II were all cousins.

The Kaiser and the Tsar sent personal messages to each other trying to avoid war between their nations. But there were evil antichrist forces at work who wanted war to destroy the Christian monarchies in Europe.

Kaiser Wilhelm [who was the Tsar's cousin] gave a peace proposal to his chancellor to deliver to the German embassy in Russia. But his [jew] chancellor intentionally changed it to a message of war!

Are you anywhere near Broadway VA?

Regarding Cybersecurity and Infrastructure protection -- as I mentioned in another post, DHS has had that mission since it was created created and IMHO the ball dropped by Bush, Obama, Trump, and now Biden.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cybersecurity_and_Infrastructure_Security_Agency

They did apparently do a great job putting out a "rumor control" website concerning the election. But not so great a job creating a capability to deal with cyber attacks.

Maybe the cybersecurity mission should be taken away from DHS and assigned to the DOD.

Gas Lines Return as Woke Deep State Fails to Stop Cyber Attack.
The FBI and the CIA have one job, and that’s to protect our way of life. Period. And the fastest way to unravel our way of life — the most effective, deadly, and destructive way — is to interrupt the free flow of energy.
That’s what the Woketard CIA has been focused on these days.

On inflation and energy independence Biden has been pretty shocking I agree, but the cyber attack was not his fault. The President isn't a God, he is not omniscient.

We should stick to criticising Biden for the many things he deserves criticism on, if we go too far it undercuts our appeal.

Sure. Biden lurches from catastrophe to catastrophe, and none of them were his fault. The intelligence agencies have plenty of time to chase Giuliani, but no time protect critical infrastructure from attack? Indeed you seem to be saying that there isn't even a role for our defense and intelligence agencies to protect our critical infrastructure from cyber attack. Except funny thing, these things didn't happen while Trump was President, and Biden threatened Russia with cyber warfare, six weeks ago, was even nice enough to give them advance notice that he would be launching cyberwarfare attacks on Russia.

So, according to you, Biden clearly has the authority to launch cyber attacks on Russian infrastructure, but no responsibility to prevent cyber attacks on OUR infrastructure?

Here is a novel idea, if Biden has no plans to protect our infrastructure from foreign cyberattack, how about he doesn't threaten anymore cyber attacks against the infrastructure of others? And, if he is actually going to launch a cyber attack, how about he keeps his mouth shut and just does it, if it's truly justified, after making sure he can defend a counter strike, or a preemptive strike if he's dumb enough to give two weeks notice of his intention to attack?

This is what happens when a retard manages to get in because some folks used COVID as an excuse to circumvent sensible election security provisions.

My mother-in-law lives up around Tupelo and she said their were long lines in her area to get gas. I imagine those stations are getting tapped out, too.

Americans are such panicky babies. We saw it with TP and Lysol and now we are seeing it with this.

It is sad when you think of how far we have fallen since WWII.

We are victims of our own success.

Yep, and when they run out of gas, it's the hated government's fault. And then they whine and whine and whine about the inconvenience of waiting in line at the gas station for an hour, and how it is all Biden's fault. God forbid that they could have a 5 gallon gas can in their garage in case of an emergency, especially if they rely on their car to commute to work every day. Maybe that would be too much personal responsibility for the personal responsibility crowd. Me, I'd just bike to work, as I often do anyway, so I'd get a bit more exercise.

I can't help but see this as an inside job of some sort.

A great opportunity to get oil and gas prices back up, and a great opportunity to blame Russia for some crime.

Of course we hold the meteorologist and sports commentators accountable.

I support good government whether big or small. Different times calls for different sizes.

I expect politicians to lie but ultimately judge them on what they do. Trump tried to control immigration and impose tariffs on foreign goods. He was not very successful and so cannot be accounted a good President. Ultimately, the Republicans do things I approve of, most recently the crackdown on CRT.

Of course you are responsible for my reading. If I draw the wrong conclusions you failed to convey your meaning. Sometimes people get the wrong impression of what I was trying to say. Instead of blaming them I strive to improve my writing skills.

You are very tolerant of failure: in weathermen, sports commentators and yourself.

Trump actually got legislation passed to enable cyber security ops. But government tends to be really good a closing the door after the horses have left but piss poor at locking the damn thing in the first place.

Then explain why two months into the offensive operations came to a screeching because everyone had all but exhausted there ammunition reserves. Why were they willing to go to war in the first place when there was almost nothing to be gained and everything to lose? Why create a post war treaty that essentially guarantees the next and likely all but guarantees an economic disaster in the immediate future?
What made people who won the war in Europe thanks to US intervention and large drafts of troops from colonial populations decide they had the right to redraw the map of the middle east and then do it on ways that still plague us tiday.? I could go on but you get the idea by now I'm sure.

    How do we do that?

What consequences happened to the sports guy that said Tampa Bay Bucs would not even make the playoffs?

What consequences happened to the local weather guy that said it was going to rain yesterday but it did not?

Can they really be called prejudices when according to you it is your fault that they think that way. if your post make people think you are a Trump worshiper, how can that be called a prejudice?
