Report: Trump Repeatedly Replayed Footage Of Capitol Insurrection As Attack Unfolded

One set of lingering questions around January 6 involves events at the White House that day. What was the President doing as the attack unfolded? How did the President respond to his supporters’ actions? An Associated Press report published Monday provides some answers to those questions, drawing on allegations from former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham and testimony shared by the Jan. 6 Select Committee.

As the insurrection unfolded, White House staffers watched the mob of Trump supporters storm the Capitol on television screens positioned throughout the West Wing. Trump reportedly reveled in watching the attack in real-time — the then-President’s eyes were glued to the screen as he hit rewind and rewatched certain moments, the AP reported, citing Grisham.

“Look at all of the people fighting for me,” Grisham recalled Trump saying.

The then-President was reportedly puzzled about why his staffers didn’t share his enthusiasm as he watched the insurrection unfold.

It seems Trump enjoyed watching the Capital police being attacked by his mob. Imagine my surprise. It explains why pleas by staff, by family members, and by congressmen, failed to get that despicable pig of a man to call off the dogs. He didn't want it to stop.

Kellogg testified that staff wanted the president to take immediate action to address the violence consuming the Capitol, but Trump refused.

“Is someone getting to potus? He has to tell protestors to dissipate. Someone is going to get killed,” Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former White House communications official, texted Ben Williamson, an aide to White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.

“I’ve been trying for the last 30 minutes. Literally stormed in outer oval to get him to put out the first one. It’s completely insane,” Williamson wrote back.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., then called Ivanka Trump, pleading that the president “ask people to leave.”

“We’re working on it,” she replied.

A number of eye witnesses gave sworn testimony about Trump's actions on 1/6. Between the testimony and the timeline of Don's eventual statement that he loved the rioters there's little if any doubt he enjoyed the show.

I can't imagine, in their heart of hearts, The Following could possibly be surprised.

We need to arrest and charge all rioters, BLM, capital, etc. but we need to do it in a fair and unbiased way, not based on partisan politics. Normal protesters should not be round up and jailed just because of partisan grudges. If we are going to charge police for excessive use of force and murder then it needs to be done for the Capital police officer as well. Everything on both sides needs to be totally fair. If we investigate Trump for inciting the riots then we need to investigate Bernie for inciting one of his followers by calling for a revolution and one of his followers going and shooting up Republican Congressmen. The left want to sweep that incident and the summer's long rioters under the table. In the end, Biden won, the electors certified the election, Trump left office, and Biden became president. That's just the facts.

Dementia is a terrible disease too. Among other things, it causes you to lose track of time and your place in it making it hard to separate relevant from irrelevant events. For example, somebody who thinks Donald Trump is not relevant to current politics is probably suffering from dementia. That person may be under the impression that they are in a different time period, one where Donald Trump was not the de facto leader of the Republican party with a huge amount of influence over current and future members who is aggressively trying to manipulate the midterm elections in 2022 while planning on running for re-election in 2024.

Only someone suffering from dementia would not be able to recognize the great amount of relevance the Donald Trump of today February 8th, 2022 has on current political events. One might even say that person is operating independent of reality.

What difference does it make if people claim the election was stolen? So what? Trump left office and Biden has been president over a year. The left claimed the 2016 election was stolen for four years. I ignored their idiotness. Why can't you?

You are very afraid that Trump could actually win another election and you think we should take the decision away from the voters on that by taking Trump out of the picture now, bypassing the will of the voters. What irks me about January 6th is how quickly everyone involved, including Trump suddenly turned into innocent bystanders when they realized there would actually be a reaction to their actions.

Then they all tried to act like they just got separated from a tour group. They knew wtf they were doing, and Trump knew what they were doing, and most of them including Trump had fun doing it.
