    ((No...you read that right. Not "Sandy"....Hurricane Katrina...in 2005!)) :)

Tom Kludt 10:33 AM EDT, Wednesday August 21, 2013

A significant chunk of Louisiana Republicans evidently believe that President Barack Obama is to blame for the poor response to the hurricane that ravaged their state more than three years before he took office.

The latest survey from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling, provided exclusively to TPM, showed an eye-popping divide among Republicans in the Bayou State when it comes to accountability for the government's post-Katrina blunders.

Twenty-eight percent said they think former President George W. Bush, who was in office at the time, was more responsible for the poor federal response while 29 percent said Obama, who was still a freshman U.S. Senator when the storm battered the Gulf Coast in 2005, was more responsible."

Big deal? An even higher percentage of Democrats believe Obamacare will reduce the deficit.

    Talk about DUMB....

It's just a knee-jerk response like so many posts on this forum. Something happens (or happened) and it's automatically Obama's fault somehow. It's what happens when you give up your brain to the partisan bubble. On the plus side, it is easier than thinking.

If the poll is honest then it is somewhat embarrassing to La Repubs.

Offhand I would guess they were confusing Katrina with the BP oil pill which Obama bungled badly.

You'd "guess" anything that would try to create the impression those LA Repubs aren't morons or completely eaten up with Obama Derangement Syndrome.

BTW, notice?....same Louisiana that produced that Republican woman who was shocked that school vouchers could be used in MUSLIM schools, not just Christian ones.

I'm shocked that it not higher than that. I remember when Sean Hannity was blaming President Obama for The Great Republican Recession of 2007 before the election was even held. When you got the stupid leading the stupider, you've gotten yourself the perfect GOP footsoldier.

I have nothing add to what I've already said.

IF the poll is honest then some people in La are confused about what Bush is responsible for and what is Obama's fault.

Considering the poll was admittedly undertaken by a Democratic-leaning organization, there could be an obvious skewing of the numbers to make it more blatant.

I would prefer to see the methodology used to undertake the survey.

I love how conservatives HAVE to defend their own even when faced with unbridled stupidity. This is why the country has gone to (*)(*)(*)(*), we have two "teams" constantly playing against each other, shifting the national discussion away from the issues that really matter (NSA, Tax Evasion, Wall Street Fraud, Drones, etc). I, for one, would love a return of the intellectual conservative. The problem is, the GOP leadership made a calculated ploy to target a very dumb demographic with talk radio years ago, and now the inmates are running the asylum.

    It's just a knee-jerk response to a ridiculous claim.

The story reads that many in Louisiana are "UNSURE" who to blame, becasue most people there do not eat, sleep and drink national politics, and could care less.

Did PPP ask them about then- Gov.Landreui's REFUSAL of National Guard help?

Or then NOLA Mayor Nagen's REFUSAL fo order an evacuation?

Or the MIS APPROPRIATION of the funds needed top shore up the 9th district levee, by the SAME CROOKED DEMS ?

I'm guessing, that , somehow, these questions weren't addressed.

Why no one takes PPP seriously...except the most naive people in America= the Doofacrats.

Question: Why defend these people? You know this just makes you look bad, right? Why not denounce them as idiots who don't represent the broader Republican coalition and move on?

Not sure how what Louisianans say about Katrina makes me look in any fashion.

The LEVEE BREAKING, is what made it a DISASTER,and it wasn't the Republicans who misappropriated the funds for its maintanence, was it?

Why defend this asinine Sleazocrat Phony "Poll"? Because it makes you look bad, right?

Why don't you look at the methodology and prove it was a "phony" poll instead of immediately denouncing it because you don't like the outcome? Yea, it makes you look bad because this is your ilk. Public opinion on Tea Party types is already at an all-time low, this story just hastens their decent.

It's a bullcrap POLL, from a biased group of liars, who would not DARE perform the SAME TYPE OF QUESTIONING in NYC, because of how STUPID New Yorkers would then look.

Ok...prove it? What about the methodology is "bull crap"? You know they were the most accurate pollster of the 2012 election, right? Seems to me like they would be more trustworthy than most, if anything.

This is really just a waste of time though, facts don't work on these people. You just want to cheerlead for your "team", regardless of truth.

Seems to me the discussion should be how misinformed the GOP base has become. They exist in a media bubble with their own reality.

721 people. Wow. Some "sample", huh? How were they contatced? When? Where?

PPP does not release its "methodology", just their BULLCRAP NONSENSE, in this case, "exclusively for TPM", becasue they knew no one there would bother to LOOK INTO their BULLCRAP POLL.

PPP is a totally biased, Leftwing JOKE.

NOw, THAT's FUNNY.....perhaps we should review Obama's Big Speeches about the Glory of the Arab Spring, huh?

Speaking of "They exist in a media bubble with their own reality"?

Do you know anything about statistics? 721 people is perfectly legitimate for a representational snapshot of a population. Most of the largest polls don't break more than a few thousand people. Hell, I actually figured the sample would be smaller as this was a regional survey. Also, yes they do, the MOE and sample size is methodology. Do you think it makes much of a difference if they sample people in NOLA vs Rural LA?

Again, these are the people who were the most accurate in 2012, so unless you have any concrete evidence that they are untrustworthy, it's pretty flippant and childish to call this a "bullcrap poll". But again, what should I expect? Like I said, you like being on a team, and you'll defend them at all costs - just like the rest of the talk radio/Breitbart/FNC foot-soldiers.

What does the Arab Spring have to do with anything? At least that is something that is actually happening, as opposed to Obama's Birth Certificate controversy.
