It is, because life is ENHANCED by children, not diminished. As someone who travelled widely, had lots of adventures, and worked a fulfilling career before starting a family, I guarantee there is no comparison. We get to keep doing all of those things (there are really only a few years where it's trickier, and that's a miniscule price to pay), plus we'll never suffer the awful, unchanging, pointless, loneliness of the proverbial empty house. Not sure how old you are, Fox, but I don't know a single childless person over the age of 50 who isn't plagued by regret. And I'm talking about people with very busy lives. They know, by age 50, that no amount of travel and experiences will ever fill the house. Children - adult or otherwise - fill our 'house' with life affirmation, love, joy, adventure, riches, and comfort. They expand our experience of life and of the world.

Life can be enhanced by lots of things if one has a broad intelligent outlook...

:) You sure protest a lot.....and how many people over 50 do you know that pour out their heart to you about how lonely they are ? Dozens? Hundreds? One ?That was hilariously absurd.

So you think that if one doesn't have children, ALL of whom will flock around their parents in their old age ( NOT REALLLLLLLLLY! ;) ) then they will pine away and die in misery?

I think you have to justify , for some strange reason, your choice to have kids.....and can't accept that not everyone needs to breed.....

It's like someone who slips and falls in the mud and says, " I meant to do that, I like mud".

.....the very idea that people can be happy and fulfilled without breeding and living through someone else probably is very strange to you...

....because it seems you believe everyone should be a clone of you and thankfully no one is....:)

not only that, some already have children and know they can't care properly for the ones they have if they have another

or their health is at risk of they have another

or this just isn't the time for them and they plan to have children later

all valid reasons to have an abortion

No, they aren't valid reasons to "kill a child" ( how draaaaaaamatic!)…..they are reasons a woman may want to get an abortion , (as we adults say)

no one is talking about killing a child, that is a republican thing if your not rich enough to keep them alive after they are born

I'm sure the Left imagines a world that is so terrible because Republicans are killing children that it's better to off them before they ever leave the womb, and save them the trouble of having to live in that world.

I don't deny it could hypothetically be possible for such a world to exist. But I think it would have to be very very bad before we got to that level.

    We're talking 2 Kings 6:24-30 bad.

Do you think things are so desperate that it's understandable for women to abort their babies?

miscarriages are abortions.... just not medically induced, nothing wrong with a medically induced miscarriage

forcing a rape victim to give birth to her rapists baby against her will is wrong though

forcing a women to abort would also be wrong

the choice is hers .... not mine, yours or the governments

You're conflating natural deaths with intentional deaths.

That's like saying it's okay for me to kill you because my aunt died from cancer. It isn't logical.

And again, we're back to the rape red herring.
    "But what about rape?!"

    Never fails.

not the same at all, but death with dignity should also be legal - my choice, not yours or the governments

You mean the person who would be dying should make the choice, correct?

Otherwise I'm really confused what you're trying to say or what your argument is.

Seems this was just another drive by troll thread with no point, and certainly no point related to abortion at all.....but allowed to stay (????)

No, I do it because I've spent more time than most at deathbeds. When regrets are present, the NUMBER ONE is family. As in, not enough of it. Perhaps one in a million regrets having children. But far too many regret (profoundly) having had none.

Yawn. Another pro-life control freak speaking up about their driving need to shame and punish the dirty whores who had sex voluntarily.

That's what the pro-life movement is mostly about. Talk to any pro-lifer long enough, and they'll make that clear.

:roflol::roll: Here's the " I did this impossible thing like attend many ( millions) death beds where for some strange reason people poured their heart out to me."" form of "proof".

It isn't really proof of anything.

First, if true it's kinda suspicious that you attended so many death beds (?)

SO WHAT? Number Two might be having too much family ….

And , gee, end of life regrets....there's lots of that going around.... for a lot of things......and it's pretty PHONY to claim people regret not having kids when they COULD have had them...

HILARIOUS!! YOU were at the deathbed of MILLIONS of people ???

C'MON!....you seem to be getting desperate to justify that YOU had kids...….why TF are you so concerned others have kids???

Sorry, but that is just weird to me.

OOHHH, the dramatic "PROFOUNDLY "..... they PROFOUNDLY regret not having kids...

When one protests too much I sense a little jealousy of people who were never tied down with kids and led a happy life...

You regard women as 'dirty whores'? Nice.

Meantime, you said it yourself. VOLUNTARILY. So much for not having any other option but abortion.

PS: I'm pro-choice, and anti-abortion. Not at all the same thing as pro-life.

Millions. Where did I say that? Further .. do you understand that some jobs involve discussions with people at the end of their lives? Maybe you don't. Maybe you think no one involved in the care of the sick and dying ever has to communicate with their patients?

    Yes, profound regret.

Meantime, I actually hurt (physically) for people who don't have children. You could not possibly be more misguided in thinking I have even a shadow of whisker of 'jealousy'. I cannot imagine a sadder and emptier life, and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

UH DUH, YOUR Post # 64 :No, I do it because I've spent more time than most at deathbeds. When regrets are present, the NUMBER ONE is family. As in, not enough of it. Perhaps one in a million regrets having children. But far too many regret (profoundly) having had none.""""

OK, I concede ,,you only claim to have interviewed ONE MILLION...:roflol::roflol::roll::roll:

    Can you show proof.....:roflol::roflol::roflol:

Some may but I doubt it was you and NO one has been at the bedside of a MILLION dying regretful people...NO one.

OOHHH, the dramatic "PROFOUNDLY "..... they PROFOUNDLY regret not having kids...

I am always amazed by your having no proof of anything but your mind reading abilities :)

Uh, it's the 21st century, I'm sure your doctor can give you something for chronic pain...

When one protests too much I sense a little jealousy of people who were never tied down with kids and led a happy life...

Not tolerating or understanding anyone who isn't a clone of you seems a little bizarre....but there are plenty of people who think we should all be good little clones....like mindless robots doing exactly what everyone else does …...

I know people who have regretted having kids. '

So do I surmise everyone does?

    NO. That would be illogical.

I know very happy contented people who had no kids.

So do I surmise that all child free people are happy and contented?

    NO, that would be illogical.

Do I think everyone should like the color blue and Pontiacs because I do ?

No, because that would be illogical....and close minded, and stifling and impractical and narrow minded.

Do I think all CHILDREN are glad they were born?

NO, but that doesn't mean no children are happy they were born.

    That would be illogical.

    Humans are individuals......NOT clones

Not everyone wants to be a parent. Not everyone wants to put their body through the trauma of pregnancy and childbirth. Do let us know when YOU have gone through it.
