Desperate to not alienate half their constituents through being associated with misogynistic behavior in their party?

Perhaps actual moral qualms about how the administration and members of congress are trying to ram this through?

Whatever the reason, 3 republican governors have spoken out about the Kavanaugh debacle, seeming to break form the pro Trump Republican camp, Is this the start of a blue wave against the vicious sexism being expressed by Trump? Perhaps a consequence of conscience stemming form more being willing to speak out against sexual harassment and abuse.

As Senate Republicans have made it clear they intend to press ahead with a vote on embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, even as he faces mounting allegations of sexual assault, three moderate Republican governors are calling for a pause.

Republican Govs. Larry Hogan of Maryland, Charlie Baker of Massachusetts, and John Kasich of Ohio have called for the Senate to either delay or cancel a vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination ahead of pivotal Thursday testimony from the judge and Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when the two were high school students.

The governors are instead calling for Senate Republicans to first commission an independent investigation to examine the separate sexual misconduct claims levied against Kavanaugh by multiple women, including Ford, Kavanaugh’s Yale classmate Deborah Ramirez, and a third woman, Julie Swetnick. Kavanaugh has categorically denied all the allegations.

Not going to waste time with another dumb investigation.

If Trump has to he will just drop him and pick another conservative.

    Kavanaugh is too moderate anyways.

In what way is Kavanaugh too moderate?

Or is that simply an excuse for yanking him?

Out of the 4 people on Trumps list, Kavanaugh has made the most rulings that were moderate, as in not strictly conservative.

He reminds me too much of another Kennedy and we already made that mistake once.

    How were the rulings moderate?

More moderate than the other people Trump was considering.

Kavanaugh falls to the left of Thomas.

So he would almost be the most extreme conservative on the bench and that isn’t “conservative” enough. Jesus fc

Y’all don’t want a justice, you want the black robed partisan the right cries about so often.

Correct and there are plenty out there.

And that chart is only one way to gauge how a lower judge may vote, other criteria have him further left than that.

The thing is this, there hasn't really been a good system designed to figure out how a federal judge will vote, we have them for the supreme court just not the lower courts yet.

You stated he was too moderate and his rulings were too moderate? What rulings were these? What about him is too moderate?

Because what I am thinking here, and I am no PhD nor constitutional expert, is your claim was invented to give Trump a reason to dump him yet there was no actual reason that your post could come up with.

What criteria are you claiming have him further left than what is on your chart?

I should have stated he was more moderate than others who aren't.

Trump could dump him for the reason that it may be too difficult to get him confirmed.

At which point I would like to see someone more conservative chosen.

There are multiple ways to guage where on the spectrum a federal judge may fall.

The chart is representative of a system where (in this case five thirty eight) is using his ideology as a proxy.

Other ways they try to figure out how a judge may rule on the court are things like how they have voted as a federal judge, this one has Kavanaugh further left, they also can use money as in who has donated to him in the past....they can look at his clerks to see how representative they are of the judge or how opposite they may be.

As I said, there is no clear cut statistical analysis like we have for Supreme Court members.

For them we use the Martin Quinn Scores.

The only ruling of BKs that I know enough about to comment on is a pretty significant one. He wrote that mass data collection of American's phone records is not a violation of the 4th Amendment. I think it is, but he tried to explain it in big government terms.

    Governors don't confirm SCOTUS justices.

    Only the senate does.
