"The University of Washington on Thursday expanded the forecast of its widely cited model, projecting 317,697 deaths in the United States by Dec. 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic as cases climb in many states.

However, the report also suggests that if 95% of Americans wore a mask, the death toll could be reduced by about 67,000 lives."

I said end of the year, the study said by Dec 1.. I had earlier said 250K, I expect more, but I like to leave a little wiggle room.

    Meaningless speculation.

And without details about each alleged COVID death, the rate so far is also meaningless speculation in the service of the most dangerous mass delusion since Nazism.

IHME is one of the best, their work is used by other scientists, like the CDC.

But your projection about how dangerous your delusion is, is spot on.

Not that I think you believe it.

Meaningless speculation & panic/fear mongering in service of the most dangerous mass delusion since Nazism.

    See above.

    Ditto.

    You won't.

I use sources, arguments, facts. All those things you don't use because they'd work against you.

Trump's many failures mean the total deaths that can be put on him, for just this year, will be over 200K. That's a death rate comparable to our major wars.

A 300k figure doesn't terrify me. It's a virus and bad stuff happens with pandemics and stuff.

Is it wrong for me to not be freaking out over the estimates? (I don't freak out over cancer or heart disease or car accidents either)

No reason to believe Hillary's many failures wouldn't be double that figure. Odds are she would have already died from it with her public responsibilities, assuming she didn't pull a joe and moved into the bunker for 4 months and left us to fend for ourselves, she was and is an unhealthy person and a pretty hard drinker, I would have no faith in her approach, I expect it would have been terrible.

    That's absurd, but whatevs.

She is smart enough to step out of the way of a freight train...

I do think she would have been a bad president, but it's hard to imagine anyone being this bad.

When its over, maybe in a few months or a couple years from now, then pass judgement.

Until then, there's no reason to assume an old drunk fat lady would be crushing it right now.

If you want to pass judgement, toss the protestors and looters under the bus.

    Why wait?? Worst. President. Ever.

I said she would have been bad. On what planet is that crushing it??

I'll get right on it after I get done throwing Republicans under the bus. Oh wait, I'll never finish that in this life, nevermind..

    I won't what?

Fake, fake, fake. Just present the extensive documentation needed to verify each of these deaths as primarily COVID caused & we can have a real discussion. :)

That could have been the start of an interesting conversation, if you had the chops to do it.

There's a number of candidates for the bottom 3, although it would need to cover 120 years.

    Wilson, Nixon, Bush2, and Trump.

Wilson is something of a wild card. I'd have to do some work before I could make a serious judgement. The rules of history can make things tricky.

But since such discussions are superficial, usually, how about, starting with the worst, Trump/Bush2/Wilson/Nixon/Reagan.

I gotz the bacon right here, bra.

    At least 120.

Agree, agree, agree, nonsense. Should also include Truman and Johnson, and probably FDR and Obama.

    Wilson: Horrible

    All-time worst: Lincoln
