They can't go first degree. This was not premeditated.
Likely the best they may get is third degree murder.

My prediction, officer with knee on neck for manslaughter, the others walk and get a big payout for unfair dismissal.

If they weren't cops they wouldn't be arresting this guy in the first place. Hence we must judge LE by different standards, we expect them to things others don't.

    I am happy for you

But I am speaking of our police being militarized and our people being subjected to that.

I am well aware of that and have fought them off more than once to get them to leave me alone.

The war on drugs is a political problem. And I think it's part of the prison industry. That's a separate issue from Police. Police don't make the laws and they don't get to pick and choose which laws they get to enforce.

Sadly prisons get to continue doing what they do because nobody cares about prisoners. I don't like this attitude. Not everybody in jail is a rapist or a murderer.

But blaming the police that really have nothing to do with it isn't the solution.

As far as police, I don't like how they are militarized but this is something that is above the police.

This killing isn't because of the way on drugs or militarized police, it's because the officer that did it was a jack ass and the officers that didn't stop it are complacent.

This sort of thing doesn't happen every day but it has happened before. How to stop it I would think comes down to evaluating personnel.

This doesn't seem to be a systemic problem in the police department so I'm not sure you can say is because of militarized police.

That is something absolutely worth talking about. And using this subject to bring it up is acceptable but this seems to be more of a personal issue than a policy issue.

That's a bad idea. You can beat the rap but you can't beat the ride. Fighting with cops can get you killed.

Fight them in the court room. You'll do more good there anyway.

Murder 1 or 2 is what I am guessing.

The DOJ and FBI are now involved and I am shocked this Police Officer has not been arrested yet.
