The current generation of young people is more pro-life than previous generations and if this trend continues, abortion will eventually be outlawed and babies will once again be safe from the abortion mills.

And it makes sense that young people are pro-life. They are "survivors" of abortion. They know that they have brothers and sisters who never were allowed to be born and that must take a toll on them. They also know that at one time, their mother could have legally ended their life and that must also take a toll.

I have a mother who who was very devout Catholic and would never abort me. But she was also a strident feminist and considered me an impediment to her career. Because of her resentment towards me, I had a very unhappy childhood.

And that is why this issue is personal to me. Anyone who argues that a mother should be legally allowed to abuse her child reminds me of my own mother, who might have aborted me if she hadn't been a Catholic.

I am not hostile to all women, as some pro-choicers might claim. But I am hostile to the idea that a mother could put any concern above the life of her own child. It is a violation of nature for a mother to harm her own child. We expect a mother to do anything to PROTECT her child, even lay down her life if necessary.

And abortion is TOTALLY UNNECESSARY. If a woman doesn't want to raise her child, she can give it up for adoption. The only reason to abort is to avoid nine months of inconvenience. And that's not a good enough reason to kill a baby.

IF YOU REALLY DON'T WANT A BABY, HAVE YOUR TUBES TIED. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR USING ABORTION AS A BACK-UP FOR FAILED BIRTH CONTROL.

    WoW!

I am AMAZED such a devout Catholic will destroy their immortal soul to advocate any mutilation of the body for the purpose of birth control, as is specifically banned by the Catholic Church

Further, even artificially preventing sperm from having the possibility of fertilizing an egg inside a woman is an "anti-life act" and and is a mortal sin. In a religion where the "intention is the same as the deed", artcifial birth control of ANY kind is "murdering babies", which is why the anti-abortionists include making birth control into murder whenever they can, with things like Personhood laws.
