You are probably talking about blacks who were slaves. Did I understand you correctly? If right, then why aren’t you talking about white slaves who were in the USA? For example, the Irish.
In addition, whites are indirectly related to black slaves. White bought black slaves in Africa. Where one black tribe caught representatives of another black tribe and exchanged ready-made black slaves for beads. White did not specifically run through the African jungle and did not catch black slaves.
White bought black slaves from the blacks. Once again - the white ones BUYED the black slaves from the blacks. Blacks themselves made black slaves.

It doesn't matter who captured and sold their ancestors into slavery, the result was that tens of thousands of white Americans considered it okay to own human beings and see them as inferior because of skin color.

The Irish were indentured servants, many voluntarily. And we're very white.

These pogroms may bring new voters who have sat things out to vote for the left, but they also appear to be minting new Republicans as well. Depending upon if they can keep left wing mail in voter fraud to a minimum, this is going to be an interesting election.

 

People are stressed out, they are squeezed to the point of insanity. I think, so they behave irrational.
They are between rock and hard place, since both parties are trying to destroy country.

I'm a gun owner, and not a conservative by any stretch of the imagination. You would be surprised at how many liberals and independents own guns.

 

Would you have a break down to post? If not, I'll review. I'd be interested.

 

I'm basing it on the fact that many of the politically liberal or neutral people I know own guns, including myself and members of my family. I don't know if there are any actual demographics on gun ownership, since that isn't a question on the registration forms. That is an interesting question, though. Maybe between the two of us, we can find a poll.

Scroll down, there's a graph showing Repub/lean right vs Dem/lean left. While there are far more guns on the right, the left leaning contingent is more heavily armed than even I knew.

 

The article title I posted should not have been , "gun-owners-vote-Republican". That is an over generalization. Your article does have me thinking: even if the protests result in a ton more gun ownership, does that = more Republicans? If white males make up a disproportionate number of gun owners, and white males already vote disproportionately for Republicans?

Atlantic Trade slavery was unique, it grew out of the Arab slave trade which came from the expansion of the Bantu peoples in the 10th century. This was indeed a matter of white slavers buying slaves from Black "wholesalers" on the various African Atlantic "Coasts" AT FIRST, but that situation did not last a very long time at all. The demand for slaves in America was unique and the whites found that it was increasingly profitable to bypass the Coasts and go into the interior themselves. They were mostly in partnership with certain Black warrior nations that is true but whites still very often took slaves directly as the Trade matured.

And none of this really matters. Slavery in antebellum America was completely unique in the history of slavery itself and this uniqueness has had profound effects on the whole of American History and race relations. I refer you to Kenneth Stampp's great classic, "The Peculiar Institution" if you want to learn more.

 

Yes, white male Republicans definitely own more guns, but in troubled times, they aren't the only ones buying guns.

Thanks for the reminder. My father, born and raised a redneck bigot in Texas, had a fit when he saw what I was reading, and I remember a lengthy family discussion of the book over dinner that night. It was the beginning of the efforts of my brothers, my mother, and myself to shake my dad's deep foundation in racial prejudice. He stopped repeating jokes about other ethnicities after that. Watching my father change over the next few years was wonderful.

 

At the risk of sounding like Trump it should be pointed out that most of what makes one a "redneck" will, if you take away the bigotry, result in a very fine person. These are Jefferson's yeoman farmers, the people that made this country Great.

 

Yeah, he was one of those "shirt off his back" types. Unfortunately, my father literally worked himself to death. He worked construction (he was a hod carrier -- I'll let you google that) and the asbestos killed him at 58. I'm ten years older now than he ever got to be.

So what? The Roman Empire had slaves. Do you think Italians should repent of this? You are a Christian? Jesus Christ never opposed slavery ..... However, Jesus Christ never opposed the invaders.
And I repeat again - the negroes themselves turned into slaves. But for some reason no Negro repents that his black ancestors made other black slaves.

 

I see a small group there, and none identified as having any association with BLM. In fact, there is nothing there to indicate where the picture was taken. These folks could be in Africa, or Europe, or even South America.
