the news are full about the Middlle-East... but nobody cares about Congo where for 20 Years people die, and got raped, by various fractions...


Why does nobody care about Congo?

this country is full of resources... is this because they are too poor to have cellphones to record the cruelties of War... or is it because they are Black, wheareas the Syrians and Iraqis have a lighter skinn so it is easier to identify with them???

 

Our country is pre-occupied with Syria and Iraq because, well, Israel is pre-occupied with running our government.

 

Middle East has oil and lots of it.

 

South-Sudan has oil too still nobody cares


Congo has Diamond, Coltan, Rare Earths...

it's really no other country's biz what goes on outside of their borders. We've just been brainwashed into thinking that US money and manpower SHOULD be so wasted.

 

I hope you are not just figuring out now that US foreign policy rarely has anything to do with humanitarian rational, democracy, or promoting freedom.

These are just platitudes used by the Oligopolies that run the show to disguise their economic motives.

 

Isn't the answer obvious? All these self-proclaimed pacifists, human-rights activists, leftists, internanational law advocates, all these international organizations and movements like the UN - their real agenda is the hatred of the West, they could not care less about deaths unless they can turn them into anti-western propaganda. If they can't blame these deaths on the US, Israel or the West - they simply have no use for them.

Congo is estimated to have $24 trillion (equivalent to the combined Gross Domestic Product of Europe and the United States) worth of untapped deposits of raw mineral ores, including the world’s largest reserves of cobalt and significant quantities of the world’s diamonds, gold and copper.

Congo generally does not have oil though. However, within the last ten years oil reserves, estimated at 2 billion barrels, were found in Congo under Lake Albert, which is in the far north-east of the country.

Because generally most of that ore goes to Western Europe, not so much to America. And the country did not have any oil development.
But the thing is, the government of Congo has ensured that the supply of minerals and exports goes uninterrupted. The West doesn't really seem willing to intervene in the conflict as long as their industries get what they want. Who do you think it is who lobbies for wars?

Probably because they don't know if the Congo is predominately Christian or not, and getting involved in preventing the slaughter of Christians is a huge, massive NoNo among 'peace activists'. Maybe activists there can spread some propaganda claiming there are no Christians there, and see if that helps.

 

Absolutely. It's along the line of all those leftists who have jumped on the bandwagon fad to hate cops and guns who would be among the first to shriek to high heaven if a gun packing police officer were not handy to protect their precious rump and valuables from the depredations of a thug. But as to why U.S. citizens are not all hot and bothered about the Congo is because unless the Mainstream Media can somehow make it out to be the fault of U.S. rightwingers then THEY aren't going to take an interest in it since they have become essentially the propaganda wing of the Democratic Party . . . and so there's nothing in it for them to wail about the plight of those people. Then too there is only so much emotional sympathy to go around when everywhere you look in the world there seems to be nothing but endless stories about mass murders and bombings and so forth.

 

I remember when George Clooney attempted to use his fame and 'bully pulpit' hoping to get the government and his fellow Hollywood 'activists' to get involved in rescuing and aiding the Christians in southern Sudan decades ago, when the ganjaweed vermin started their genocides. He met with dead silence and complete indifference from his faux 'peace activist' Hollywood chums and 'friends'. I guess it was lost on him why he got no attention and action from his peers; they prefer to snivel and cry over vermin terrorists and the bodies of children the vermin use as human shields. That's their preferred type of animals to support and encourage.
