Oh, if you have PROOF of a way to grow the economy, the congress, president and the rest of the nation would love to have it. Taxes are the lowest of any point in the last 60 years, and we are not growing our economy, yet the insane scream 'LOWER TAXES'. Time to ignore the idiots and move on.

I do not believe you have any idea what an 'Empire building' military really looks like...think tens of millions n uniform and tens of thousands ships planes and tanks...not our pitiful numbers.

What we have is enough to win a short war against any potential enemy except China...if the war is long or we need fight China, we are unprepared.

By the way, today on any given day, the USA can put forth a more powerful military that all the rest of the armed forces in the world. NO other nation has the power to destroy the world, as the American Military does---not even Russia today has the capability, and China certainly does not. Someday when you are not so busy, go to the online JANE'S book of Military evaluations and take a look.

 

90 percent of what the military does on any given day, is "hurry up and wait". We can eliminate 50 percent of the waiting and get more done by having the reduced force work only 25 percent of the time.

 

I'm not sure where you are getting this, but it isn't my experience. Maybe infantry troops in garrison spend their days doing nothing, but the majority of the military members actually do a lot of work. Lots of us are even working 12-hour shifts 5 days a week to keep up with the workload (and no that isn't 10 hours of sitting around.)

I remember a bit of dead time when I was a very junior member, but as soon as I got a little training and responsibility that changed quickly.

We have in the world today a 'supposed' religion, that VOWS to kill us all. And some want to shrink our military below what are already low numbers. The outside enemies determine the need for our military, not our internal political bickering.

Every time we shrink our military down to " politically acceptable" small size, we get attacked and lose thousands of lives for being unprepared. Pearl Harbor and the first year of WWII, thousands died because we saved Defense Dept money. [Dept of the Army then] Korea, after WWII we shrunk the military so much that Full Colonels became buck Sargents and PFC's became civilians. Not many posters on here are old enough to know that at one point early in the Korean War we were done to an 80 X100 mile area. That's all we still held of the country while our military was being rebuilt. Again thousands of US soldiers died as they were rushed in with insufficient training. We traded US lives for time. But we saved money when we shrunk the military to next to nothing.

 

Besides, National Defense is the federal government's number one priority, and one of the few functions allocated to it by our Constitution, and one of the only ones it gets right.

 

That false religion that is actually a form of government, and vows to kill us has over a BILLION members. And we should shrink our small military even more to save money. Our SOG elite troops have deployed more than 10 times because we have so few troops. Our RA troops have deployed up to 6 times for the same reasons. My nephew, a reservist, deployed 3 times. Once in the first Gulf War and twice to Iraq. One year there, a couple of years back in civilian life. Retrained, deployed to Iraq for a year. A year back in civilian life and then called back for another year in Iraq. This time he had to be retrained in a different MOS as his wasn't needed but another one was. Plus he had to be extended because he was scheduled to retire from the Reserves half way through the deployment. And they asked him to stay on. He retired. A reservist does 3 years of active service in 10 years tells you how small the military is now. Critical MOS?? They needed truck drivers for his last deployment.

Meanwhile the EPA wants a $21 billion increase in their budget and needs 230,000 more 'agents' to enforce the regulations [LAWS] they have put in place without any person voting on said laws.

Odrama wants another half TRILLION to follow up his total failure Stimulus at a cost of a full Trillion. So he blows almost as much as the military costs worldwide, and he achieves nothing. You want cutbacks? Cut back the insane incompetent incumbent idiot in the WH. Send him back to civilian life organizing drug dealers to get out and vote, early and often.

 

The false religion in the US is that its over sized military is actually necessary to defend them.

Firstly, morality has NOTHING to do with Religion. It's knowing the difference between right and wrong, and you know what's really freaking wrong? Forcing your religious beliefs down other peoples throats.

Secondly, not all Christians are as hypocritical, narcissistic, and egotistical as you and your fellow T-baggers are. A LOT of Christians are about tolerance and understanding, not hate and exclusivity.

Thirdly, Government can't tell you how many guns you can own, or whether you're allowed to kill a human for stepping on your property, but you think they should be able to tell me that I can and can't do to my body? You're a hypocrite. No government intervention in personal business unless it's someone else's personal business.

The Tea Party is detrimental not only to the United States, but to the World. They act before they think, they speak before they think, they pretty much do everything before they think.

It is quite apparent that I know far more than some. I am able to use all the weapons on several US tanks, as well as having been trained on m-14, m-16, m-3, m-1922a1, m48, m-48a3c, m-60, m60a1, m60a2 and several types of grenades, grenade launchers, as well as a very basic (one day exercise) with mortars, we basically just learned to assist in the setting up, why, I was never sure.

 

It is obvious you hate non-Christians, especially Muslims, you also hate democrats and black presidents. You hate protecting the environment, and you love spending, but only on a bloated and unnecessary military, wow, thanks for the info.
