Lincoln (2012)'s advertising machine is in full gear right now. He's the only president to deal with states seceding from the Union. Is it just a coincidence that this movie is coming out right at the same time all those petitions go up about southern states wanting to secede from the Union? Initially it could have been some marketing company trying to be smart and get that internet people's attention...but then people actually started taking it seriously. Now we're dealing with it being a news item instead of a marketing ploy.

You know... It's almost believable. What do you guys think?

I think they knew it was coming.

Even before this was the novel and forgotten film about Abe Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.

    Abe was a (*)(*)(*)(*).

Here was another laughable recent propaganda piece about the glories of federal government. History books are full of lies, the victors indeed write the history. If you're not into revisionist history, you're not into truth.

So, is Charles Burris suggesting we need to return to the late 1800s, or is he rejecting the Gilded Age?

Government or no government, it was an age of oligarchy. We still have oligarchy today, although it's less blatant in most forms.
