Hats off to you, very astute. Yes, it was an Obama quote. I diddled it to see what reaction it gave, lol.

I was reading his quotes and I was comparing them to stories on the BBC. Particularly to the racial divide that resulted. The BBC summed his presidency up well, "And although it was a presidency that began atop a mountain, it ended in something of a valley.

 

As an American immigrant to an African nation I am particularly sensitive to quotes like Obama's, in a positive way, and to Trump's in a negative. Let's just say I wear my "I S***hole Countries" T-shirt proudly. All the English speaking expats here want one.

 

I'm into people delivering results rather than just delivering fancy talk. Unfortunately for Obama, he tended to deliver the latter, imo. I suppose why his presidency ended with him standing in a valley.

 

Just like Trump eh? I mean delivering results.

What on Earth are you on about? You can not point to a single economic indicator that wasn't headed in the right direction when he took office. Not one. And if he had put his inheritance into mutual funds he'd be worth more than even he claims he is.

 

Obama inherited a diaster from Bush, the only way the economy can go is up from what he got. You will find the Fed stepped in to stimulate the market, to recover by altering interest rates and quantitative easing. Compared to the recovery from other Western countries, America's was sluggish. Obama started his presidency on top of a mountain but left from the bottom of a valley. Then under Trump, jobs etc.. raced above Obama's. And the bitter pill the left needs to swallow, it hasn't been Obama's economy for 3 years, get him out of your system.

As for inheritance, he inherited between $200mn to $400mn and he's turned that into a multi billion dollar empire.

So those are just the facts, I can't do anything about it. If everything tanked under Trump, then everything tanked. If everything under Obama recovered fastest in the Western world, then so be it, but it didn't.

And I can guarantee it, Trump not only reduced taxation to stimulate further growth, his businesses would have reaped the benefits too. That's called life.

And I'm sure after Trump's 2nd term, the next president will dip his fingers in the till too.

 

That all boils down to "he hasn't ****ed it up yet so he's done a great job". Not exactly something to brag on.

 

Oh and if you put 200-400 million in a solid mutual 30-40 years ago today you'd have 8-16 billions.

 

And if you research inheritance, most spend and lose it, they don't put it into savings accounts. And if you had picked Lehman Brothers.........

But, we've digressed too far!!

 

Melania is walking a fine line- she’s getting a bit old for white lace.

Michelle can carry off more interesting cuts and colours.
