    The climate priests can't be losing the donations from their coffers... any lie that will continue the flow of research grants.... And let's be honest here, no one is actually peer reviewing these bozos...

    The data shown in that graph were retroactively altered to remove the 1940s-70s cooling trend.

    No, the data has been changed to get rid of most of the cooling which began in the early 1940's to the late 1970's.

    The data for the 1930s, 40s and 50s were surface and radiosonde data, not satellite data. They were nevertheless altered to remove the 1940s-70s cooling. The significant 40s-70s cooling was an accepted fact until the CO2-governs-surface-temperature dogma required its removal from the temperature record. Just as one piece of evidence for this fact, I remember visiting the UK in the early 1970s, and older people complained they hadn't had a "proper summer" since the 1940s. Well, now the UK is having a proper summer again. But it's nothing to do with CO2. People in their 90s in many other countries, who actually remember the 1930s and 1940s, will tell you: it was at least as warm back then.
