I just tried looking it up since I have seen that quote here before, and about all I can find so far is that it was attributed to Net as he was leaving Pollard's jail cell. Of course, why he was IN Pollard's cell much less who heard it is another question, seems as odd to me as Obama visiting Holmes cell personally. *shrugs* The problem is, I can't find any reputable news sources that have quoted it, all I can find are conspiracy websites and Stormfront (of course). A number of places that have a link to it as "widely reported" link back to Google, and a few other places where it was quoted, I also found other people who asked for links and got about as far as I did. Granted, I haven't done an exhaustive search either but I'd think I would have found something by now. Well, maybe someone else will have better luck than me.

Actually, when I started searching for a link to the quote, I really was going in with an open mind. It's a dumb thing for a politician to say, but history has shown that politicians say really dumb things. And it's not like I was terribly invested in Net anyway, so I wasn't pretending that he didn't say it, I wanted to find a link to a solid news source, a sound bite, something on YouTube where Net is recorded saying it and not one where someone SAYS he did. But I couldn't find one, all I could find is a circle of people on conspiracy or hate sites quoting it with no actual link, or if it was quoted on a message board, inevitably someone would ask for a link with none provided It's almost as if someone invented the quote and then people started quoting the mythical quote and it got repeated enough so that it appeared on Google which served as it's own proof of existence. The thing is, if the link were out there, if the actual proof were out there, you should be able to find it just like that (snaps fingers) and yet ... I can't. Apparently you can't either. But feel free to prove me wrong. You say it was recorded, let's hear it. For my part, I think I'll contact Snopes and ask them if they want to verify as some kind of urban myth or not.
