what a surprise, yeah Big Al you sure need a couple of billion more in your investment portfolio. Don't worry about the people you are making choose between food and heating their homes in winter

Surprise! Al Gore and his carbon credit huckstering partner David Blood, both principals at Generation Investment Management (GIM), warn in their October 30 Wall Street Journal op/ed feature of peril to fossil fuel investments due to “The Coming Carbon Asset Bubble”. They argue that such “unwise and increasingly wreck less” investment strategies pose three broad risks which will cause carbon assets to become “stranded” and lose economic value: through direct government carbon regulation; as a result of market-share losses to “already competitive” renewable technologies; and due to “sociopolitical pressures” causing carbon-intensive businesses to lose their “license to operate”.

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybe...ing-a-killing-on-anti-carbon-investment-hype/

Now all you good libs here jump on and defend Al, after all who cares about his proposed policies killing thousands every year due to energy poverty

Big Al, the Greenies pal, needs to sell you part of his "Carbon Credit" scheme so he can afford to go to 5 star hotels and hit on two star masseuses. Good grief, what a goober.

Ooooh! Goody! Someone mentioned Al Gore - now I get to talk about Lord Monkton - and his latest idiocy!!

    http://www.theherald.com.au/story/1328416/lord-monckton-warns-of-agenda-21/

When Gore reaches a similar level of idiocy let me know I am sure I can find even more entertainment

And this is one of the most lauded climate sceptics around

Transcript: Vice President Gore on CNN's 'Late Edition' @ http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1999/03/09/president.2000/transcript.gore/

BLITZER: I want to get to some of the substance of domestic and international issues in a minute, but let's just wrap up a little bit of the politics right now.

Why should Democrats, looking at the Democratic nomination process, support you instead of Bill Bradley, a friend of yours, a former colleague in the Senate? What do you have to bring to this that he doesn't necessarily bring to this process?

GORE: Well, I will be offering -- I'll be offering my vision when my campaign begins. And it will be comprehensive and sweeping. And I hope that it will be compelling enough to draw people toward it. I feel that it will be.

But it will emerge from my dialogue with the American people. I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.

The man's own words!!! Care to refute that?

What we now know as "the internet" is a public network. Before Gore pushed the enabling legislation, it was restricted to government agencies, research institutions, and contractors and was known as ARPAnet. So you can't refute what's basically true.

rrright, he said he "created" the internet not the republican-"invented!"....so yeah its absolutely refuted, this isn't a minor detail there is a difference which is not lost on republican spinners otherwise they wouldn't repeatedly say invented which gore never claimed...gore didnt invent the internet but is very much responsible for creating the environment for the internet as we know it today...

semantics, that's what you live by. LOL!!!!! Well perception is 99% of what one chooses when words are spoken. And the manner in which that phrase came from the man is why you hear and read what you do. Not your fault, it is what is perceived. To get bills passed that opened up the ability to drive infrastructure updates is a far cry from creating the intelligence that is the internet. So again, semantics and perception. Oh well.

You are so full of it, it's incredible.

Read this [if you don't mind being shown up as the ignoramus you are]

There is much, more @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Internet and if you're too lazy to do it yourself, click on origin of the internet for results that NOWHERE indicate Algore had anything to do with it!!!!!

I was using the internet in '83 with a dial up modem - I didn't need him to make it available to me.

so you dodge the phoney "invented" claim because you were clearly wrong and now this...

How about two key developers know as the fathers of the internet
Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf...here is their statement regarding Gore's valuable contribution to creating the internet...http://web.eecs.umich.edu/~fessler/misc/funny/gore,net.txt

Again you missed my point in an earlier post, it was how he delivered that speech and the look at me how great I am perception he demonstrated with it. You see, having to document exactly what his role was, does not take away the condescending approach he had to announce he 'created' the internet. The facts are we all believe in his heart he created the internet. It was his delivery that led us all there. And, BTW, I believe he still believes he created the internet in the terms of solely

Actually that is total bull(*)(*)(*)(*). Gore is a statist he envisioned the internet as this massive centrally run and controlled mainframe. As a senator he directed funds towards this statists wetdream. Most all of that money was wasted and set back development of the internet due to miss-allocation of resources. The only thing that gore can claim some credit for is a few thousand dollar grant that went to the early development of HTML. Most of the rest of the money he earmakred was flushed down the toilet.

Yeah you warmmongers have thrown your lot in with this guy.

When Watts, Mocton, McIntyre or any other skeptic gets caught with pictures of themselves photoshopped as Himmler sitting on their blogs then you can talk. Until then better watch what you say about credibility.

Gee - best you can do as criticism is post Photo Shopped pictures of people you disagree with

Whereas Watts, Monkton etc have been caught lying so often that they make the average politician look straight!!

What it reveals is they're ideologues, it's not about the science....longknife has contibuted a number OPs and posts that are what i would define as pro-science, approaching science in a logical and objective manner.... unless its anything related to CC when he becomes openly hostile and illogical...

I think that when someone has a picture of themselves photoshopped as Himmler sitting on their forum that totally destroys any credibility they once had.

Not really old chap - most just see it for what it really is - a failed attempt by a disgruntled denialist to smear someone. There is not one shred of evidence that Cook himself either authored or posted that picture

Other than it being on his blog. That is like saying finding the body in my house is not evidence that I killed him.

    Yes it is.

Ah, meh. If only Al didn't suck, and if only Barack didn't second that choom, we wouldn't be entertaining the redundant TP spammers.

Hey. If either Al or Barack really believed, in cutting corruption, to cut pollution, instead of carbon credit scams, we'd all be sipping the coffee, instead of watching out, for snotty tea-spillage.
