Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: ‘I Will Never Apologize’ for ‘Concentration Camp’

    Ocasio-Cortez drew criticism all day Tuesday. But she kept doubling down and digging in, first insisting the detention camps met the definition of “concentration camps”; then trying to draw a distinction between “concentration camps” and “death camps”; then arguing that the U.S. had also used “concentration camps” when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (a Democrat) interned Japanese-Americans during the Second World War. She also spent hours retweeting supportive messages from those on the left who attempted to defend her use of the “concentration camp” analogy. And she resumed her fight Wednesday morning, arguing that the U.S. had “run concentration camps before.”

    House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (D-CA) likewise said that she should apologize.
    Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, apparently in response, that she would never apologize:

    Chiquita Khrushchev just won't let it go.

    Even Jewish groups are trying to educate her but she won't have it.

    Now she's even screeching at other democrats.

    You pretty much just described the entire subset of her functioning intellect. The irony being that she IS the future of the Dem Party's leadership. Sad, isn't it?

    Remember? Remember when the Democrats were screaming about Nazi concentration camps back in 2014? Yeah, neither do I.

    It's weird, it's like the Democrats only started to care about immigrants recently, when they became a convenient cudgel they could use to beat Trump.

    That can't be the case though, because the Democrat's compassion for the plight of immigrants is 100% genuine and benevolent, right?

    Someone please say "yes", so I can point at you and laugh.

    What I remember is many on the left Tweeting out those pictures in order to label Trump as some sort of barbarian only to delete those Tweets when they found out the barbarian was Obama.

    America has always used concentrate camps. It put the Indians on them and called the places “reservations.” During the Civil War it placed thousands of slaves in death camps, where they died. It even put Harry Truman's family in a concentration camp.

    According to Section 5 of Executive Order 13767, the detention centers are concentration camps. Unlike jails and prisons, concentration camps hold just one class of people. The only people in the detention centers are illegal aliens.

    “Sec. 5. Detention Facilities. (a) The Secretary shall take all appropriate action and allocate all legally available resources to immediately construct, operate, control, or establish contracts to construct, operate, or control facili- ties to detain aliens at or near the land border with Mexico.”

    Since people have died while in those concentration camps, the camps can be classified as “death camps.”
