For those who have been to drag races, you know that even though the races are very short, and very fast, you still watch them like you truly enjoy watching them. This car is special. First the engine is ahead of the Driver. This places the explosive parts of the car ahead of the driver with the clutch actually kind of below his seat. Not exactly but dangerously so. Oh this is a record run for that class of car. You pay an entry fee just to get into the stands. If you want to roam around to get close ups of the car, you pay an added pit pass fee. Don't you think that is more fun than talking politics?
I sure do remember TV Tommy Ivo. I watched him race at Fremont, Dragstrip and I believe also at Half Moon Bay dragstrip, both closed now.
I miss the 1/4 Mile. I grew up with Gary Ornsby's son.... Gary. I think the dude was World Champ and first to exceed 290 MPH. RIP - His son is really good people who also raced.
