I also see a photo of a popular late 80's/early 90's musician... in a carefully-chosen photo of him dressed like a pimp and making gangsta signs... shown by a person pretending to like him but probably doesn't even know who he is... making threads about black thugs for no apparent reason.

    Such deceit is disgusting.

The presence of black drug dealers seems to be a growing problem in major Chinese cities and they may see rich foreigners staying in China as their potential customers. The Chinese supposedly kicked the habit that they had notoriously acquired prior to the Opium Wars but China's drug culture may still persist and there is collusion between criminal gangs and police officers. North Korea is possibly allowed to engage in the illegal drug trade in China and the Kim regime has long been accused of drug trafficking as a source of hard currency.

Sir Mix A Lot wore a fur coat a lot...he was known for that. Also, he isn't throwing gang signs in the photo.

There could be lots of things that make you racist. Does this particular anecdote make you racist? In isolation probably not, when taken in context with other factors probably so.

This is how you started off the thread:

That means EVERY black young man you see no matter where you are, you expect him to offer you drugs. Thats asinine.

The majority of 20-30 yr old black males do not sell drugs for one. They would be like me saying every 20-30 yr old white male I pass on the street I expect them to have a confederate flag on their car.

Normally I would write a post like this off as obvious sarcasm, but that's precisely the problem. It's not. You've just illustrated a viral mental epidemic here among the present day western world. Too many people have been conditioned to outright reject common sense. Which is so unbelievably ridiculous I don't even know where to begin. But allow me to give you an example. If you hit yourself in the face with a hammer, you'll notice that it hurts. If you hit yourself in the face with a hammer again, you'll notice it feels the same way it did the last time. Common sense is the act of recognizing that it's not going to feel any better the third. Liberal thought today has people smashing themselves in the face with a hammer all day long expecting it to feel different every time. And you wonder why regular people can't reason with them. It's because they can't learn anything. Common sense is the act of retaining knowledge acquired through empirical observation.

The reason you misuse the term "racist" is because you don't utilize common sense in your assessment. Without prudence, your accuracy becomes impaired. And you don't even know what you're talking about.

Though I know it won't fit your narrative, would you at least please try to quote me in context? My observation is strictly about the San Li Tun subdistrict in Beijing where I live--and it is dead-accurate. So, no, it DOES NOT mean "EVERY black young man no matter where I am."

    Who said they did?

No it would not. I have no idea what kinds of stickers these African gentlemen in my neigborhood have on their cars... or if they even have cars.

Are you trying to claim I don't know who Sir Mix-A-Lot is? I can quote lyrics... Hell, I've met the man. You can kiss my ass with your smug assumptions about me. Oh, and that's not a "gangsta sign." You wouldn't know a "gansta sign" if you were on the bus with the Vice Lords.

What is disgusting is your prejudice.

That depends. Has the person in question been legitimately burned by them personally? Or are they just caught up in some ridiculous Al Sharpton-esque racial group-think?

I would say the former is legit since it's pretty consistent with the OP. But the latter is just indoctrination.

Common sense is also the ability to read nonverbal cues. Body language betrays a lot about people's intentions. Which helps further sort out the trustworthy from the suspect.

No it's not. That's why it's called common sense. Some people are just better at it than others. See my example about the hammer.

I have an associate here who is with the DEA. She tells me that China is currently the #1 manufacturer of Molly... and of Meth precursor. Walter White thanks them...

Apparently there is also a rotting industrial city on the Northeast coast of DPRK where all the really nasty (*)(*)(*)(*) that goes into our favorite designer drugs is made. A dozen workers a week drop dead on the factory floor--dissidents, of course.

How many young black men age 20-30 live in your district in Bejing? Hell I didn't even think black folks lived in China.

Thats what I get out of your narrative. Look how you start it off,

Sure it would. I because I am labeling them in a certain manner without knowing if what I am thinking is true.

Beijing is a very international city. And I live in the embassy district--the one part of town where we foriegners outnumber the Chinese. I don't know that these guys live here, but they are out working the streets. But as I said in my OP, you'll see people from every corner of the globe, and speaking 15 different languages.

That's because ... every time I see a 20-30 year old African male walking towards me I DO expect him to offer me drugs.

But I do know this to be true: WITHOUT EXCEPTION, every single 20-30 year old African male I have passed on the street in this district has offered me drugs. This is simply a fact. I am not guessing... I am not assuming... I am stating an unimpeachale fact. Ergo, your sticker analogy falls flat because it requires you to make assumptions.

This poster admitted to having muliple IDs earlier... just hasnt been busted yet. Thus the short-timer comment. ;)

There is so much senseless violence these days, a person would be stupid not to feel a little uneasy anytime they're approached by a stranger.

I had an unusual encounter with a panhandler last week who approached me with this line, "Now don't be mean, but I need to ask if you will give me a few dollars for gas. My car is parked over there because I couldn't make it any farther."
I gave her 2 bucks. Just because she was afraid of me for a change. ♥

Other factors being future threads, I'll have to judge for myself based on the content.

Other IDs? Is that a fact? If that's true hadn't you better report that to a moderator right away.

    Then your comment becomes nonsensical.

You say that "other factors" in your original comment refers to "future threads" so your comment becomes.

In isolation probably not, when taken in context with future threads probably so.

So, either you can predict the future or you're just talking out of your ass.

Look people this isn't that hard. The OP states that where he lives, every person of a certain age and race, exhibiting certain other characteristics that he has come across has offered to sell him drugs. It is not then beyond reason for him to assume other people who fit that exact same description that he meets in that exact same area would exhibit that exact same behavior.

Where I live there are a lot of people that fit that description and most of them do not sell drugs so I don't make the same assumptions here. I've never been to China so I just assume what he says is true since he actually lives there. Here, where I live, every time I've been approached by two white males in their late teens to early twenties wearing white short-sleeve dress shirts while riding bikes and wearing helmets, they've tried to convert me to Mormonism. As a result, when I see people around here fitting that description I assume that they want to convert me to Mormonism. That doesn't make me a religious bigot. It just means that I pay attention. I probably wouldn't make that same assumption if I was on vacation in England or France.

    - - - Updated - - -

I didn't pose any question and the OP is not mine.
