That's ridiculous. The poverty excuse is just that, an excuse. What's the violent crime rate in those Appalachian counties?

Also, there are very very few people living in absolute squalor or on the streets. People below the poverty line today would be considered rich 75 years ago. Almost everyone has a home, cell phone, vehicle, air conditioning, food, etc, etc

And even if the poverty excuse is legit, why are so many blacks in poverty? If it is because of some type of institutional racism, then let's find the law or policy that is specifically designed to keep blacks poor, and we'll fight it together. But since there is none, then the real reason blacks are in poverty is because they, like most people in poverty, make very stupid life decisions. Namely:

They drop out of highschool
They get a criminal record
They have children out of wedlock

 

Black codes were overturned in the sixties.

 

but none of that is happening to you. You are able to get a plethora of grants, loans and government contracts.

What, are you the least skilled, least knowledgeable person around. If you were as superior to Blacks as you seem to think you are, shouldn't you be able to progress just fine without assistance? Are you so far down the skill and talent level that you can't compete with poor disadvantaged people?

 

I don't need the help. But there are tons of white people who could use the help. But they're denied that help for NO other reason except for the fact that they're white.

I am of the professional class. All of the Blacks I regularly encounter, are articulate and educated. Their intelligence and work abilities are on par with my White colleagues.

Take a look at our current and last president. Obama was perhaps the most upstanding, honorable president we have ever had. After a decade of the Republican dirt machine digging into his past and his life, they came up empty. Whereas Trump has been sitting at the head of a forth generation white collar crime family. He constantly lies. He has admitted to and bragged about sexual assault.

If one is to compare race character, by comparing the character of the two men, then half white, half black men, must be vastly morally superior, more intelligent, more articulate, more honest than white men.

 

From the inception of Reaganomics till this day average people have been losing ground. The primary reason is because the Republicans have been altering tax rates and deregulating behavior, with the effect of shifting the wealth to to wealthiest, to the detriment of everyone else.

Trump, who inherited $400,000,000 from his father, runs a business that caters to other rich people. His business practices have included stiffing his workers. Throughout his life he has never done a thing to help the cause of average people. As president his greatest efforts have been at reducing the taxes and regulations on the wealthy, and trying to repeal the healthcare coverage that many millions if Americans rely on.

The Republican Party is doing far more harm to the welfare of your economic situation, than all the affirmative action in the world.

I would think it racist if all grants were only for black people, but that is not the case. For centuries grants denied black people and women equal opportunities in education. Now they are getting opportunities that white males have enjoyed for hundreds of years . White males still have opportunities and all kinds of scholarships and grants.
I am quite familiar with affirmative action and you’re making it sound like minorities are just not smart. In the past when we had white male affirmative action like in New York City where I had to have a 91 average to get into the city universities while boys needed an 87, did it mean the boys weren’t competent? When Harvard denied more than 50% of the population admission do you consider those who were privileged white males undeserving ?
You are acting as though white people are denied chances to get into college because they are white. You are acting as though black people can get into any college because of their color. That is not the case. If a black person is fifth in his class and a white person is third in his class it does not mean that the white person is better. However schools need diversity and that is a check in the box. The same extra curricular activities are etc...and of course the legacy admission that black kids don’t have

 

Exactly I live in an upscale integrated community and we don’t have the same amount of crime as you will find in a poor white area

Can you be specific and tell me where white people do not get help. And it has to be because the reason is they are white.

 

And what is so sad is that Trump is screwing them and they are saying thank you. The rich people are quietly reaping those great tax cuts thanks to the little guys who fight for them. I would rather fight for the little guy

 

Blaming all African Americans for actions of a few is despicable. It was fashionable a century ago, but it is and always was despicable.

Sadly blaming all men for higher crime rate of some men is fashionable.

A more pertinent question would be do you think they should be punished by having programs and policies that don't allow whites to access them as a way to give black people a helping hand up?
