In the year 2015 the federal government plans a budget in a size about $3.9 trillion that is nearly 21% of American GDP. So, it turns out that about $4 trillion the USA make only federal expenses. Obligatory expenses make nearly 2/3 from total budget. The main item of expenditure is the program of social insurance which includes more than a third of obligatory expenses and about 23% of the general federal budget. On the second place are military expenses which are 15% of share.

The American government is often accused for spending enormous sum of money for financing military programs which become unprofitable for the country and have no economic benefit...There were no wars and neighboring countries didn't attack the U.S. over last 150 years. And it is interesting, from whom we protect ourselves?
