American soldiers should disobey and refuse to fight in case of battles

You don't really have any choice in the matter. Once your "children" are of age they are no longer children and they can enlist as they please. Your best course to keep them out of the military is to make sure they are well-educated.

 

In normal condition : protecting a country that is worth to be protected, having your work and your life respected, satisfaction of putting dangerous people without having a laxist justice that would free them in a few seconds, the salary.

Excepted the salary, none of those conditions are present.

It is actually hard to see folks on the board express these kinds of propaganda perspectives. Clearly, these posters don't understand why folks in US services serve. There are, actually, many in the US who clearly don't value their lives, but thankfully, they aren't in power at this point.

 

Often protecting your country involves fighting before your country is invaded, like in WW2.

Protection has always been used by corrupted politicians to send people to the slaughterhouse. I tried to find back the origin of the quote, without success, but if I'm not wrong, it's Hermann Göring which said "the best way to convince people to attack another country is telling them they're attacked and you're only defending yoruself". In any case that's the propaganda that the nazis used.
That's something that have been used in many other wars. Most wars have been fought in name of "democracy" or "progress" but it was just to defend the interest of the ruling class.

In my case : my dysfunctionnal lungs would prevent me to enter the military, even in a forced ways, but even if I ignored that, would I sacrifice myself to protect some corrupted politicians ? No. Do I really wish to protect most of the population of my country ? No aswell. The only valid reason for me to go in a fight would be to protect my family, and not dying in an useless war is a pretty good start.

 

If a soldier is going to disobey a direct order, he'd better be sure that the order is unconstitutional. To see disobedience on a large scale isn't going to happen.

 

Sure, who needs a military? We can just wait until our enemies decide to leave us alone. I forgot, that is what we used to do and it didn't work.

I think they'd have far worse problems meeting manpower quotas if clerks and mechanics and etc were expected to fight.

 

I don't give a damn if only one American died in WW2 because of France but you need to show some damn respect before you start telling American servicemen what they should and should not do. Frankly you should be grateful, apologize and shut the hell up.

I have a lot of respect for every american service man. The death of every of this men is a tragedy and every of their life is extremly precious. That's why I'm outraged that they're send so often to uncessary death. I miss respect to some people in that thread, but never to the soldiers, always to the politicians.
Should I apologize to some corrupte politicians no ? I have a lot of difficulties with those people who "respect" soldiers, yet don't have any problem sending them to an uncessary death, and then let them die in the streets. Who is the most disrespectfull there ? I, for saying that the life of your soldiers is precious, or your politicians that let your vets die in the streets ?
Should I apologize to american service men ? No, because I never have shown any lack of respect toward them.

My point isn't to lack of respect toward any military. Considering people which mock my ancestors which went through WW1 and other horrors, I'm confident that there will be one day a kind of justice.
