Let's presume, given the polls that Joe Biden will become the President of the United States. In a way, it's a great thing that he's President because it means that Democrats, and even Republicans(particularly, neoconservatives) can no longer ignore the elephant in the room that is their scorched earth strategy to getting rid of Trump. It has long term consequences.

For starters, Biden/Harris come to power at a time of the riots. Let's ignore for now whose to blame for them, just the fact that they exist. This DNC and its incoming administration has denounced federal officers as stormtroopers, keep that in mind. Also keep in mind that Kamala Harris said these revolutionaries will continue past the election(she didn't put a qualifier on a Biden win, so let's presume there's no qualifier.)

This sets the stage wherein, it's now "Biden's America" that must quell the social unrest that plagues the country. Here's where it gets interesting: What if Joe Biden were to use federal officers? You know, the ones that were called 'stormtroopers'? I'll tell you what will happen, the progressives who held their nose for Joe Biden will openly revolt. The Trump supporters, who just got done seeing their man and the officers called "storm troopers" will have a fit over the blatant hypocrisy.

On this one issue alone, the Biden Administration is off on the wrong foot in a no-win scenario and it's not Joe's fault. Let's look at another scenario, this one of the new administration's own creation.

Kamala Harris has denounced the vaccines, and did absolutely nothing to quantify her remarks.
Let's say they take office and a new vaccine is released on say February or March of the new year. Will people take it?

One major problem: It was Trump's warp speed operation, it was "Trump people". You see the problem here? Trump of course did not enlist orders to the FDA, or to the producers of the vaccines but that doesn't matter in our hysteria era. In our era, we think Trump concocted some sort of poison and that it will endanger our health prior to the elections.

This is of course absolutely ridiculous, but it pars the course of today's discourse and the consequence being the Biden Administration will be unable to enforce the vaccines.

Why is all of this, dare I say bound to happen? Because they didn't attack Donald Trump, the politician. They attacked Donald Trump, the person. They made him out to be the devil of all devils. And in so doing, also tore down the very institutions they claimed to protect.

They claimed their nihilist thoughts that have brought us to the present day situation was to protect the institutions. Take for example, Senator Warren's remarks to Chief Justice Roberts. They were totally uncalled for, and beneath a Senator. Senator Schumer has made similar remarks. And it could simply be their opinions(despite how political those opinions are) if it weren't for the fact that they got done criticizing Trump for the same.

All of them participated in the dismantling of the American institutions, and so the institutions have no stabilizing pillars left, and we citizens are left to a media that rushes to be "first", hypocritical politicians and a lack of confidence.

Biden has repeatedly condemned the violence, and he promised to bring BLM, police and the community to the table.

Harris said she'd be first in line if the doctors say a vaccine is safe.

    Your hypotheticals don't seem reasonable.

"to the table". This will be an amusing spectacle. And while she said that, she didn't take back her irresponsible remarks. Let's be blunt about this: If a vaccine is proven to be effective, it has the potential to save lives especially if we take it. Whether we miraculously take it on the 3rd, or if we take it next year it's what we've all waited for in an attempt to return to normal.

If it's effective it will be given to severe cases and frontline workers. Most people won't take it unless it's proven safe, and that takes more time. The point is that you're projecting a negative image when a positive image can easily be presented. When it's safe, she'll be first in line, and so will I.

At least Biden will try to bring the parties to agreement. It's better than doing nothing.

Kamala did not "denounce" the vaccines. Not sure what you're talking about. And Biden simply has to start police reform. That's what BLM is seeking. That part shouldn't be difficult.

As for the American Institutions, Trump left them in a shambles. That's going to take more time. Regain our credibility at the international level (again), the confidence in our intelligence agencies, our courts, our criminal system, ... that's going to take much more time.

Trump didn't make those officials lie, they lied themselves. I wish Comey didn't lie to me, I wish the entire intelligence community didn't lie to me. It would have been swell if they admitted outright that the conspiracy theory of Trump being a Russian puppet was just a conspiracy theory.

At any point, they could've told the truth. They didn't and they can't blame orange man bad for that.

Do you remember the concent decrees that Trump did away with?
Those will come back. While there were still some protests then they didn't last long because the police departments responsible were investigated and where required retrained. This quelled the riots.

People are afraid of Trump shortcutting the system. Harris is not the only one.
Joe would support the 2 month period the FDA says they need to assure the vaccines are safe that Trump wants to skip.
So Joe could perhaps announce the vaccine on the day he is inaugurated. Yes. That would be a good time.

I have no idea what you are talking about here.

It's not a conspiracy theory. The intelligence agencies didn't say that Trump is a puppet (Hillary said that). They said he's considered an asset by the Russians. Which means that they believe Trump being in power is somehow useful to them. That doesn't mean he is actively cooperating. Or that he isn't. They just know that Russians prefer him in power. The reason for this has not been officially revealed by the intelligence agencies.

The only one lying to you is Trump. And once you realize that (and one day you will), everything will make sense to you.

We literally had a whole investigation on this(and the 270 whatever contacts). And they still couldn't prove collusion between the Trump Campaign and the Russians. And we now know from their private January 2017 testimony that they had no such evidence corroborating it and they didn't even bother.

Yet this story took a life of its own, the President was under suspicion, we had a special counsel and now a nation divided. Yes, Putin got what he wanted but he got it more from the American People than from Trump himself individually. Once you realize that(and one day you will), you'll be able to put the hysteria in its proper prospective.

It would have helped if a candidate didn't welcome Russian interference on live TV, and if associates hadn't been in contact with Russian officials before inauguration.

Regardless of what was or wasn't proven, Trump brought this on himself.

The riots could be much, much worse by the time a Biden administration takes over. That will likely depend on how much a Trump loss would be by and whether or not he actually agrees to step down, or fights it due to "mass voter fraud". If it is an especially convincing loss (as polls currently point to) and he refuses to go peacefully, I can definitely see that triggering much bigger protests and thus riots.

But regardless, if we assume status quo for riots from now until a Biden admin, I would expect some attempts to address the underlying causes followed by federal troops if they persist. Hypocrisy is an oft traveled road for both parties.

Denounced vaccines? I haven't seen it. Expressed doubts in the safety of them, yes. Trump cutting through the FDA red tape to get things done faster is a good thing. Him claiming publicly that a vaccine will be ready by election day? Idiotic.

By doing so, he gives away his ultimate goal in the timing of the release of a vaccine - to boost his reelection chances. This should raise doubts in anyone's mind when a politician pushes for X to be done before election day as to why that needs to be done by that specific date. Given his public comments, Harris' position that you should deffer to the doctor's opinions on whether or not they are truly safe if such an election schedule is maintained is prudent.

It is honestly such an unforced error. Even if his goal is to get a vaccine out before the election, he could very easily be pushing for that in private without publicly announcing it. But of course he couldn't hold it in. Maybe polling places on Nov 3rd will be combined with vaccination tents replete with signage stating "You know who made this happen right?? You know who to vote for :)".

Warren's question was fairly tame. I never understood the attacks on it. Schumer's, not so much. Fortunately neither command even an iota of the public opinion or celebrity as the POTUS. Unfortunately the POTUS has used his celebrity to undermine the legitimacy of the courts throughout his tenure.

They did find collusion. Lots of it. Both before and after the fact. They found coordination, contacts, coverup, they found... everything. Both the Mueller Report and the Republican Senate Intelligence Committee investigation.

Looks like Barr's distortion of the Mueller Report really had an effect on right-wingers. But it didn't have the same effect on reality.

They didn't have evidence of collusion in 2017. That's why they created a Mueller Commission. It found plenty of it. And then the Senate, the SDONY, other intelligence agencies... And this despite the very brazen by the President and the Justice Department.

I don't think you have checked the information on this thoroughly enough. Pretty much everything is widely known. It hasn't been proven yet at the level that a criminal court would require. Because the documents that prove it are being kept hidden by the President and the DoJ. There might be more (like what exactly it is that Putin has on Trump) but the thick of it is pretty much known already.

Biden is not going to keep those documents secret. One word of advice: don't let it catch you by surprise.

Consider the fact that everything that we have been able to confirm has been confirmed. Everything reported by whistleblowers, everything in the Dossier, everything Cohen declared, ... Every time documents leak, they prove all of those sources were right. Just imagine what will happen when the documents that have not leaked are checked by a new administration. Don't be on the wrong side when all of those documents are in the hands of an administration that is not interested in hiding them.

WTF are you talking about. Trump was NEVER charged with collusion because there was nothing that proved ANYTHING all the wackjobs in the media were saying that YOU continue to repeat. That’s why he wasn’t impeached even with the entire govt apparatus doing everything possible. It was all a complete sham. No one in all the investigations were convicted of anything even remotely related to Russia. It truly was a witch hunt because none of the charges were based on anything believable. All the investigations were a joke. Some got nailed but only because they were investigated on completely unrelated issues. Most of our politicians would be in jail if they were actually investigated honestly.

Expect a (short-lived) Biden presidency to look a lot like this.

Nancy is already blowing the dust off it and getting ready for the transfer of power.

Good to see you conceding the elections to Biden.

You weren't the first though. Trump had already conceded.

    Wishful thinking.

    Nobody is conceding anything.

What we're doing is clueing you in as to what the plan is in the unlikely event the mail in ballot cheating scheme works, and the Harris administration happens.

"of course did not enlist orders to the FDA, or to the producers of the vaccines but that doesn't matter in our hysteria era"

His public stance of the time line for vaccines production differs from those tasked with producing slash overseeing vaccine manufacturing from the head person on Warp speed to Dr. Redfield and Dr. Fauci. If hes publicly contracting them what do you figure he's privately doing?

"In our era, we think Trump concocted some sort of poison and that it will endanger our health prior to the elections."

Doesn't it raise concerns when he says rightfully that no one else has produced a vaccine so quickly? Maybe he and his administration really is that much smarter but as a logical person dont you ever entertain the idea that faster sometimes means cut corners?

"Because they didn't attack Donald Trump, the politician. They attacked Donald Trump, the person. "

If were being fair Trump has made a living selling his persona and his persona does have a tendency to drown out policy hence people who support him saying stuff like "I just wish he'd stay off Twitter". Having said that I dont think for everyone's sake I wish Democrats didn't fall into attack his persona as much and stick to legitimate policy beefs if only for the sake of every day Americans political discourse

"And in so doing, also tore down the very institutions they claimed to protect."

Maybe so but from undermining USPS to CDC to telling people to vote twice undermining voting itself they wouldnt be the only ones who have dirty hands in that

"Take for example, Senator Warren's remarks to Chief Justice Roberts. They were totally uncalled for, and beneath a Senator. Senator Schumer has made similar remarks."

I agree and I feel the same way about how they went after Kavanugh tbh. Democrats imo should've stuck to policy and known judicial complaints but instead they went on unsubstantiated rumors.

"All of them participated in the dismantling of the American institutions, and so the institutions have no stabilizing pillars left, and we citizens are left to a media that rushes to be "first", hypocritical politicians and a lack of confidence"

    Agree

Too late. It's obvious that you (and Trump) are concerned about how it applies to Biden, yet never gave even a passing thought at how it would affect a Trump second term.

Yes she did. I heard her say it on TV. She said she would be afraid to take a vaccine because this president...yadayadayada... As if she thinks Trump is personally concocting a poisonous vaccine in his basement. It would actually be kind of funny if it wasn't so serious.

One of the greatest misconceptions of the Trump Era, has been(and literally a court actually ruled this, which is sad. Critical thinking in these last four years=0) this idea that what Trump says, is an actual order. The executive branch does have EO powers, Trump has almost never used them(in light of his criticism of President Obama for doing so.). The only actors in our government(and Mike Lee got himself in a silly debate over this on twitter. It's remarkable what these years have done to our warped perception of government) is the legislative branch.

All the executive branch can do is either sign bills, veto bills or write an EO. It really is a puppet position the more you think about it.

All of this to say is that Trump can suggest this or that, but it's not an order. It's not enforced. And really, the difference is a matter of months. We don't know if these months make all of the difference or not, most likely not(Centerfielder has many times posted on how the safety of the vaccine shouldn't be in question because where they're cutting corners is not where the ingredients are concerned, they're at phase 3, etc.)

So if a vaccine came out in the next couple of weeks essentially, would I take it? Yes. If I can be protected from the coronavirus, develop antibodies and keep myself living for a long period of time that matters more to me more than "OMG, Trump's President and the vaccine came out."

To me, it's intellectually hysterical. and I've never been one for hysterics. I'll take the vaccine, I'll take "my chances".

Those in the know(see above) have stated that the cut corners relate more to red tape regulations, rather than the procedures. There also seems to be a massive undertaking with multiple companies as well as 'generic' vaccine material that had been left prepared, just for a moment like this.(actually, from what I read it's more like the companies didn't have the funds to continue their research so it was abandoned.) That's the one thing I would definitely change. Rather than give our money to The WHO, we should have billions of dollars in research so that we can be like the Germans and their public health institutions.

If we could have a state of the art, routine research that is utterly uninterrupted, we could not only find treatments for this disease/virus, we could also be a step ahead of the game for the next one. Rather than the stimulus's, I would love to be a part of Congress right now and create this organization and to write it so that no future Congress or administration could touch it. It's literally vital to the sustainability of our country and its citizens.

This is a very fair statement to make. Trump blows his trumpet far more than anyone would like. But we don't have to pay it attention(which yes, makes it blow harder.). But other times, it makes a person think "what do I have to do differently to get attention."
Bernie Sanders, just shortly after the election said that Congress had to pick up for the Presidency. I wish they actually did that, instead of falling with it.

As Pence illustrated to us once again, the "dogma lives in you". Words that never should've been spoken in a Congressional chamber and is beneath the Congress. The constitution expressly forbids religious tests(and Harris's response to this was a perfect segue to attack when she said that she/Biden were practicing catholics.)

"So it's only Democratic catholics who are approved, not conservative ones? I didn't know that." Mic drop moment right there. There was so much hypocrisy from Harris that Pence left a lot of red meat on the table on points he could've scored.

If we stuck to policy disagreements, I think our relations with each other would be better. We wouldn't see each other as existential threats, but as fellow citizens with whom we have a disagreement.

The USPS conspiracy is absolutely ridiculous, I can't believe that anyone else fell for it, because anyone who has ever run a business knows the first thing about businesses is logistics, and that the USPS has been backloaded for DECADES now. And the government, who runs this public business didn't give a damn about it when it first started(very similar to the SS backload and the SNAP backloads. The government, just doesn't run business well at all.)

Here's the truth: The reforms they undertook, will have to be undertook in a Biden Administration or any other future administration because the business model is hermorggmng literally BILLIONS of dollars from the USPS. No Trump conspiracy, no interference
in the election. The old business model is just terrible business for USPS.

The VA had/has similar issues. If I were POTUS, the first thing I'd do is fix all of the backloading. Get a lot of these cases off the books/paid off in full,
and have the books straightened out so that we can keep up with timely payments and benefits, as well as the government receiving profits in a timely fashion.

Because that's how you run a business, but 99% of politicians in Washington don't run a business, so it becomes a conspiracy theory now. The theory stretched so far in its credibility that it was pointed out that the current head had stock in UPS(or insert other company that does NOT engage in commercial mailing. Only the USPS does.) But if that theory had merit, the current head would actually much prefer the company to continue losing billions and not initiate reforms.

So as we agree on at least, this topic can you see how everyone contributed? I'll even let a Democratic voter/supporter say that Trump owes the biggest slice of the pie(and on some issues, I agree and on others I've blamed this House Speaker and am repeatedly on record for saying this is the worst Congress we've ever had in these four years.) but that pie isn't 100% his. Maybe it's 55%

But that leaves 45% for us to share, in a hysteria that far surpassed Bush, let's be honest it surpassed Obama's and it was a waste of four years as a result.
