My power would be the ability to absorb knowledge from any informational medium (books, cd's, dvd's etc...) I would use this to gain both academic and vocational knowledge. I would create new technologies to help mankind.
Wonderful question. I would fly. I know you may think it's boring, but my kids grew up and live all over. I'm also expecting a grandson this summer.
I already have that power. It doesn't do me any good, and I can't benefit mankind unless I let rich parasites own my power, make me humiliate myself to serve them, and pay me a tiny percentage of what that power is worth. If you can't understand the concept of some of the greatest computer geniuses knowing nothing about computers, then you can't understand what has been going on throughout my lifetime. A seed doesn't grow in sand.
I would gain the power to manipulate all matter at will, and would use it to gain great wealth, eliminate those I choose, save those I considered worthy, and make free energy for everyone.
I'd choose the power of temporal fugue, basically, the ability to travel in time. I'd use it to gain great wealth by traveling into the future and obtaining next week's copy of the the WSJ. I'd just spend the money and enjoy it, though I might give some to people I liked.
I already have the power to walk into a crowded bar or restaurant and force a table to open up immediately.
Doppleganger......basically the next time I have to listen to someone who is whiny or boring I would turn invisible and silent, but a copy of me would appear at the same time and nod and say "I hear you" ever few seconds. Then I could slip away unnoticed and do more important stuff.
