Americans United In Dislike For John Boehner

    The Huffington Post | By Ariel Edwards-Levy | 01/09/2013 12:29 am EST
    Excerpts:

“Americans are largely split in their reaction to the "fiscal cliff" agreement, but united in their dislike for the role played by House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), according to a Washington Post/ABC poll released Tuesday.

Americans were divided on the fiscal cliff agreement, with 45 percent approving and 38 percent disapproving, although far more strongly disapproved than strongly approved. Democrats were more than twice as likely as Republicans to approve of the deal.

Women, minorities and those with lower incomes were likely to support the deal, while other groups were more divided, according to ABC.

President Barack Obama won a majority of support for his handling of the crisis, as 52 percent of Americans approved of his approach, while 37 percent disapproved.

John Boehner, by contrast, saw a 20-point net negative rating, with 31 percent approving and 51 percent disapproving of his handling of the deal.

The fiscal cliff's resolution gave a bump of several points to both politicians over their performances in a previous ABC/Post poll from December.

As a Pew poll released Monday also showed, Boehner's low ratings come in large part from Republican unhappiness with his leadership. While Obama has broad support from Democratic voters, just 38 percent of Republican voters approved of Boehner's work on the negotiations.

The ABC/Post poll surveyed 1,000 adults between Jan. 2 and Jan. 6, with a 4 percent margin of error.”

IMO: Of course the dislike for the crying House Speaker John Boehner is widespread and goes into the republican party confines as he bungles everything he touches. The latest is the relief bill to help victims of Hurricane Sandy in which Boehner shelved the bill to retaliate against what he considers the arrogance of Gov. Chris Christie in working with President Obama in viewing the damage done by the super-storm and planning quick relief to the victims.

But more visceral is the hatred of the populace for the ongoing, hostage-taking elements in the latest fiscal-cliff dealings between the Senate and the crazies in the House: it is still the republicans working against the Democrats whatever the problem to be solved might be.

This is such a negative approach to be used as to border on treason, for the republican legislators are actively working against their country and the wellbeing of its people.

These republican radicals need to go, as they are hindering any solution to the multitude of problems in this country...not the least being the entrenched hatred of the republicans for the President. which is the reason for their exceedingly negative work.

With Congress's popularity teetering on the 9% mark, you would think that perhaps the republicans would realize that they are not exactly in the flow of good will that usually accompanies a hard working, able-to-compromise Congress, who have lost the ability to even act as if they are working for the people of America.

It's pretty cool when most Americans, including many Republicans....hate the leader of the ONLY branch of the Federal Government the Republicans control.

Amazing, isn't it? Boehner has always been ideally unsuited for his task as Speaker while trying to keep the TParty crazies under sedation. But he has become a little Hitler as he sees some lower eschelon soldiers starting to salivate for his job....Cantor and Ryan.

Does John Boehner even want the job anymore? Maybe someone should ask him...

This article is about John Boehner; if you want to talk about Nancy start your own post!

I find it difficult to 'like' any politician, but Nancy would be on the top of my list if I were in politics. She is well loved by other Democrats and is a tremendously patient woman, who always works for the people of this nation.

But that still does not extricate John Boehner from being a lousy crying failure as Speaker. You would never see Nancy doing any of the destructive things Boehner has done.

Nobody....by 2014, he'll have secured "his people" in the Chairmanships and effectively neutered those who tried to "oust" him last week.

Only way the Right "gets rid of Boehner as Speaker"....is to lose the majority in the House.

Mitch McConnell: You know how they're going to come at you?

John Boehnerl: They want to arrange a meeting between me and Grover Norquist. On Eric Cantor's ground. Where I'll be safe.

[McConnell is silent for a long moment]

McConnell: Cantor? I always thought it would be Paul Ryan.

Boehner: It's the smart move. Cantor was always smarter.

More importantly will his replacement have a name that can be made fun of, an orange canned tan, and will they be able to cry upon command?

Glibness aside, the question remains, he may get to stay due to a lack of anyone better, which doesn't make the Republicans any better off.

Both parties are dead set on destroying the country at this point, they just have their own selfish ways of doing it, and none of them even realize their attempts to create the perfect nation under their parties political domination is a direct violation of the oath they took to accept the power they abuse.
