When have I ever said that they were not violent. If someone broke into your home and started calling you names, breaking your stuff, spraying pepper spray at you and taking swings at you and yours, would you not get violent? I'm sure most would.

Let us not lose sight of the fact that when these violent right wing gangs come to town, there are often thousands of ordinary citizens come out to counter protest, being tired of endless attacks by violent right wing gangs.

On second thought, your trip might turn out to be funny. The last time the Proud Boys, or whoever they were, came to town, the police surrounded them and only let them go where the police wanted them to go. They marched them to a park area that had been previously cleared of citizens. There they let them give their speeches to their hearts content, to no one. When they tired of that, the police marched them back to their busses, where they boarded and returned to whatever rat hole they sprang from.

Just think, that could be your fun filled outing to Portland.

When the antifa shooter shot up daton ohio, much MSM reporting stopped.

 

I am a citizen of Portland and am sick and tired of violent right wing gangs invading my town and causing trouble. I don't go to where they live and vandalize the place, and I'd appreciate it if they didn't do it here.



The anti fascists are mostly one step up from street punks. They hang out, drink beer, as apparently the local beer is really good. (I'm a teetotaler, so I wouldn't know). Smoke a little pot, and Portland does have some of the best pot around, and occasionally get yacked out on a little meth. Black seems to be their favorite color. The women load it up on the eyes and most of their clothes are black, as well as their backpacks.

They are part of the wider anarchist movement that stretches from here to Seattle. They, the anarchists, still communicate the old fashion way. With post bills. Take a walk around town and you'll know when and where their meet ups are. Even if there will be a band.

I am an artist and I have drawn them. I've never felt threatened by them.

.The city came to the realization that the anti fascists were not about to let the violent right wing gangs get a foothold in our city and had to act to prevent further violence.

There were two sides and the city had to pick one. On the one side was the Rose City Anti Fascists, being anarchists could draw on hundreds of possible participants. They had a very powerful ally on their side. The thousands of citizens who showed up to counter protest the violent right wing gangs.

On the other side was about two dozen members of the Patriot Prayer, who came from Camas Washington.. On some of their rampages, they drove a bus. When the equally violent Proud Boys came, they were also in a bus. All the way from the other side of the country.


So the mayor comes to a decision. Like any good mayor, he chose to side with the thousands of Portland citizens, many who voted for him over the violent right wing gangs.

The problem with right wing gangs, is that the police tend to be sympathetic to them. Many being ideological brothers. That is what sparked the creation of the Rose City Anti Fascists. To do what the police wouldn't.

But Ted Wheeler is a pretty bright guy. Since his election a few years back, he has been reformulating the police department. Weeding out its somewhat racist past, more through policy change. But also to put in place a no nonsense Black woman as the chief of police. I think there were also reforms in the Multnomah County DA office. It seems the reforms are working as the police have been arresting members of the Patriot Prayer and the violence has been going away.

Now that the police are doing their job, without the biases of the past, the Rose City Anti Fascists won't have to do theirs.
