There's been talk for a while about placing an NFL franchise in London. I know they've seriously considered it, but the odds of it becoming a reality are probably 50-50 at best.

If a team is given to London, it would be put in one of the eastern divisions:

    AFC

    New England (Boston) Patriots
    New York Jets
    Buffalo Bills
    Miami Dolphins

    NFC

    New York Giants
    Philadelphia Eagles
    Washington Redskins
    Dallas Cowboys

I wonder if the English have any interest in this. One proposal would have Mexico City also get a team, which would move the Dallas Cowboys to a western division.

It looks like the NFL games in London draw big crowds. I wonder how many attending are Americans, starved for football.

Edit: if London gets a team, it would be fun if they were called the Redcoats ... playing against the Patriots, and re-living 1776.

I'd love to see a team in London and Mexico City.

I seriously dont see it happening.I dont see NFL players agreeing to fly overseas all the time.

By the way, seeing your avatar,I see you are a fan of a team that has tainted the sport forever.thats really sad that you can cheer on a team with a coach and quarterbach that has no morals morals or conscience whatsoever and refuse to acknowledge their wrong doings.

You seem butt hurt. Has your team lost to the Patriots a few times? My condolences.

The penalties against the Patriots are due to selective enforcement. The NFL is legendary for teams and players trying to get a competitive advantage. Jerry Rice was the biggest cheater in NFL history. He wore glue on his hands his entire career, but no one said anything about it. Stuff like that happens every day. Grow up and get over it.

Butthurt? your hysterical, you should start a comedy club.:roflol:

I have ALWAYS been a chargers fan so therefore in their first five superbowls they played in I cheered them on and rooted for them since I have always been an AFC guy, yeah thats really being butthurt.

It wasnt till the last superbowl against the seahawks that I rooted against them. I now hate the seahawks as much as the cheats because carrol just like belicheat ALSO is a cheater even worse because he cheats to lOSE. Its so obvious to any thinking person he took a payoff to throw that superbowl.

the combination of deflategate and how carrol was paid off to throw that game i will never watch another superbowl again.I wisely missed last years superbowl game. That one was rigged as well for the donkeys to win.

apples and oranges on jerry rice. that has been debunked.

YOU obviously are butthurt though since the truth hurts that you cheer on a team that has no morals or a conscience whatsoever.

the cheats have created the biggest scandal in sports history since the black sox scandal and that truth hurts you.

the fact you cant handle it,i would say YOU need to grow up and stop making false accusations I am butthurt especially since like i said, the first five superbowls the cheats were in,I rooted FOR THEM to win.

oh and even bradys own center damien woody has come out and said brady is a cheater. the fact you are getting angry over this truth proves that YOU are the one butthurt.

what do all these people have in common?
    barry bonds
    roger clemons
    sammy sosa
    Lance armstrong
    mark mcguire
    bill belicheck
    tom brady
    chicago black sox
    new england patriots?

you guessed it,an asterisk.sorry the truth hurts son.

    have fun talking to yourself.bye.

I can't go through your entire irrational post, but:

    1) Jerry Rice has admitted he used glue his entire career
    2) there will be no asterisk on anything the Patriots have done

    Talk about stuff you know.

It would almost require a new team for every division, or the schedules and games played would be offset. However, I would have no problem with more teams, and a longer season.

    An NFL team in London?

Interesting, now that UK is leaving Europe that could be the first step to make England a new state of the United States of America [Scotland would fight for its independence, you know ...].

We'll add two stars on the flag ... England and Scotland. We might as well annex Canada, too.

The problem with adding a team in London is that it would completely screw up the current conference/division format. The only way it would be even somewhat feasible is if another team (maybe the Chargers or Raiders) moved to London, plus the time difference between London and the US (especially on the west coast) would make scheduling somewhat tricky.

It would be cool but I dont see it as a reality because of traveling distances.

Now what could be done is a format of the little league world series. They have the NFL and the ENFL(European League) . Then at the end of both seasons the champions play eachother for a world title. But even then, that may take away from the greatness that is the Super Bowl and I don't know if the players would enjoy playing that extra game, or even go 100.

Mybe if we have GB towed more state side?

To Las Vegas, not (*)(*)(*)(*)ing Liverpool lol.

Id be cool with them moving to Vegas honestly, just as long as it is not San Antonio where they will destroy Raider nation and make our mascot some boot wearing, dazzly shirt and big hat cowboy type crap. I was hoping for LA which is still a possibility, but Vegas would be cool too.

dream on with your fantasys of LA or vegas.Never happening.the owners want the Raiders to stay in Oakland and mark davis will never get the 24 required votes to move because most of them dont like the Davis faimily so your Raiders are safe from going to London.lol

ADDING ON TO THE REST OF MY POST-

The NFL does not want a Davis owned Raiders franchise in LA.they dont like the Davis family and they want an owner that has deep pockets to run a franchise in LA.Kroneke fits the bill being the second richest owner in the NFL.He has more money than Davis and Spanos COMBINED!!!!!

oh and you can forget about the Raiders going to Vegas as well.another laughable fantasy because the year the Rams and Raiders left LA in 95,the next year when the oilers and browns left as well in 96,the NFL made it MUCH tougher for teams to relocate putting in rules where a team cannot leave a major media market for a much smaller market like the rams did and the oilers did leaving houston for Nashville.

WHY do you think no teams have relocated to other cities since then? The Rams are the exception and that is ONLY because the NFL wanted a team in LA as you well know and the Rams were the logical choice with their history and tradition but most importantly, they met the criteria the NFL was looking for.the NFL wanted an owner with deep pockets and kroenke is the second richest owner in the NFL.He has more money than Davis and Spanos COMBINED!!!!!

The NFL had to lose the st louis market to get to LA,if the Raiders or chargers moved into Inglewood as well, they would lose two NFL markets to get to LA.That would be taking one step forward and then one step backwards.that is not good business sense. Not happening.

The Raiders would be leaving the 6th biggest media market for the 46th biggest media market. Not happening with the NFL rules they put in place in 97 after the oilers and browns left their cities.

Having lost the Rams and the Oilers leaving major media markets for much smaller markets, new rules were adapated that teams cannot leave a big market for a much smaller market after that.WHY do you think the Rams are the only team since then that has relocated? they fit the critera going from a small market to a MUCH bigger one.

Why would you want to play NFL in England...they only see the sun one day per year...
it rains every day and its always about minus 18 degrees.....

I'd give it better than 50/50 odds (at least for a London based team). The Dolphins are HUGE there, they draw the same kind of crowds you'd expect in Miami. Gridiron is big in Germany as well. They way I'd expect it to go is London gets a team (not a US team, nobody would be willing to move through the core of the team might be made up of American free agents to make sure they're competitive) with exhibition games across Europe (as is the current situation in London). If gridiron develops a commercially viable following, a European league independent but associated with the NFL get's formed (the London team being transferred to the new league) 15-20 years down the line with a World Cup style event pitting the winner of the Super Bowl and European equivalent to determine the best team. The NFL's mistakes the last time was trying to actually run things FIFA style instead of letting the Europeans manage themselves and setting up a pro-league without 1st establishing youth and semi-pro leagues to develop an experienced player base.
